Let's Get Lost with The Oceanic Three
We're your Oceanic Three: Theresa, Amanda, and Kip. Join us as we get in-depth about our favourite television show - Lost! We talk about everything: The Island, The Survivors, The Tailies, The Others, The Myths, The Theories, and on and on and on, but we also talk about how Lost changed the television landscape when it came out and how it still reverberates to this day.
Most of all, though, we always come back to how Lost is primarily a character-driven show. For every myth and mystery, five incredible character stories were told. They were complex, mysterious, beautiful, and sometimes challenging to watch - but the characters and their interwoven lives brought Lost to a different level unlike anything ever seen on television.
We would love it if you joined us as we get in-depth about all the Losties, what makes them tick, why they do what they do, and ultimately - what they're doing on the Island.

Amanda:
[00:00:00 - 00:00:07]
Hello, everybody, and welcome to this week's episode of let's Get Lost. I'm your co host, Amanda.
Kip:
[00:00:08 - 00:00:11]
I'm Kip, another one of the hosts.
Theresa:
[00:00:11 - 00:00:13]
And I'm Teresa. Why was this weird?
Amanda:
[00:00:13 - 00:00:15]
Because I think usually I say I'm joined by.
Kip:
[00:00:16 - 00:00:16]
Yeah, you say.
Amanda:
[00:00:16 - 00:00:20]
So I screwed that up. I deviated, blanked.
Theresa:
[00:00:21 - 00:00:21]
I just stared off.
Amanda:
[00:00:22 - 00:00:27]
She's like, who am I? Did not mean to cue a existential crisis.
Theresa:
[00:00:27 - 00:00:29]
It really threw me off.
Amanda:
[00:00:30 - 00:00:39]
It's been a weird day is. When we entered our recording studio, we scared the out of all of Kip's beautiful animals, and we're not really sure why.
Kip:
[00:00:39 - 00:00:45]
It was so weird. I was downstairs waiting, and they just freaked out, poofed out and ran. It was so strange.
Amanda:
[00:00:45 - 00:00:49]
It's a weird day here. The weather's turned finally.
Kip:
[00:00:50 - 00:00:50]
Yeah, it's.
Amanda:
[00:00:50 - 00:00:54]
It's fully winter here. Everyone's feeling a bit weird.
Kip:
[00:00:54 - 00:00:55]
It was the first cold day today, wasn't it?
Amanda:
[00:00:55 - 00:00:56]
Like, it was cold.
Kip:
[00:00:56 - 00:00:59]
Like, there was a wind chill. Like minus 20. It was.
Amanda:
[00:00:59 - 00:00:59]
Yeah.
Theresa:
[00:00:59 - 00:01:01]
My ears hurt when I was shoveling earlier today.
Amanda:
[00:01:02 - 00:01:04]
Shoveling clouds are out.
Kip:
[00:01:05 - 00:01:06]
Winter's here, everybody.
Theresa:
[00:01:07 - 00:01:08]
It begins.
Kip:
[00:01:08 - 00:01:08]
It begins.
Amanda:
[00:01:08 - 00:01:18]
For those who listen in Canada, that is for our listeners around the world, perhaps you are in better climbs today than we are. We hope the best for you.
Kip:
[00:01:18 - 00:01:22]
We're not jealous, actually. I like winter to a degree.
Amanda:
[00:01:22 - 00:01:23]
I like.
Theresa:
[00:01:23 - 00:01:29]
I like winter with Christmas. Like, I can't imagine the holidays without snow.
Kip:
[00:01:30 - 00:01:42]
No, it is nice. You got to have that snow. And I do, like, some outdoor winter activities. Like, I'm not like, I like skating. I like going for winter hikes.
Amanda:
[00:01:42 - 00:01:50]
I like a controlled. Like, I like knowing I'm going to be outside for two hours doing this one activity. I'm dressed appropriately for it. It's all good to go.
Kip:
[00:01:50 - 00:01:51]
And you can't beat tobogganing.
Amanda:
[00:01:51 - 00:01:52]
You can't beat.
Kip:
[00:01:52 - 00:01:52]
Like, that's the best.
Theresa:
[00:01:52 - 00:01:54]
I also love a good sleigh ride.
Kip:
[00:01:54 - 00:01:55]
Yeah, sleigh rides are great.
Theresa:
[00:01:55 - 00:01:59]
So cozy. And then you go in for a cup of hot choco. Like.
Amanda:
[00:01:59 - 00:02:17]
Like, what do you like on, like, legitimately, like, what is the altern like? Anyone out there who's in a place, living in a place, who does not have snow at Christmas. What are your Christmas versions of, like, the skating and hot chocolate and sleigh rides and toboggans that people do at Christmas here with their families? Like, what do you guys do?
Kip:
[00:02:17 - 00:02:19]
What are the winter activities when you don't have snow?
Amanda:
[00:02:19 - 00:02:26]
Yeah, like, the whole family's finished Christmas dinner in Hawaii or. Yeah, Cuba or Australia.
Theresa:
[00:02:26 - 00:02:27]
Australia. Yeah.
Amanda:
[00:02:27 - 00:02:33]
And you go for the Christmas beach day. I mean I'm like legitimately curious.
Kip:
[00:02:33 - 00:02:41]
But yeah, I'm curious. Or like there's some places where the, the seasons don't really change. Yeah. Like it's just temperate the whole, the whole year.
Theresa:
[00:02:41 - 00:02:44]
I mean we did do one year where we were in Punta Cana.
Amanda:
[00:02:44 - 00:02:45]
Yeah.
Theresa:
[00:02:45 - 00:02:46]
We did. For Christmas.
Kip:
[00:02:46 - 00:02:46]
True.
Amanda:
[00:02:46 - 00:02:47]
We did.
Theresa:
[00:02:47 - 00:02:49]
And that was a little jarring.
Amanda:
[00:02:49 - 00:02:50]
It was.
Kip:
[00:02:50 - 00:02:51]
You were there over Christmas.
Amanda:
[00:02:51 - 00:02:52]
Yeah.
Kip:
[00:02:52 - 00:02:52]
Wow.
Amanda:
[00:02:52 - 00:02:53]
My friend got married on Boxing Day.
Kip:
[00:02:53 - 00:02:54]
Cool. I don't remember that.
Amanda:
[00:02:55 - 00:02:56]
Yeah, it was 27th maybe.
Kip:
[00:02:56 - 00:02:57]
Nice.
Theresa:
[00:02:57 - 00:02:59]
Boxing Day. Box.
Amanda:
[00:02:59 - 00:03:00]
They got married on Boxing Day.
Kip:
[00:03:00 - 00:03:01]
Cool.
Theresa:
[00:03:01 - 00:03:08]
But yeah, I remember we did. We were in the pool all day. I got he stroke, had Christmas dinner, got really sick.
Amanda:
[00:03:08 - 00:03:21]
But the, the like resort did like a, A like cuz you know the resorts are often a lot of American and Canadians. They did like a full on like Christmas dinner. It was really cool. But yeah, it was weird to be doing it like sunburnt.
Theresa:
[00:03:21 - 00:03:23]
Yeah. I straight up had he stroke but.
Amanda:
[00:03:23 - 00:03:43]
I just, I do. I find different traditions cool in any event. But I also just wonder. Yeah. Like so much of our Chris like our traditional Christmas here in Canada is surrounded by the fact that we have snow. So people love to do things like ghost skating, go sledding when they have the like Christmas break or whatever. So I'm just curious, what if people who like what is.
Kip:
[00:03:43 - 00:03:49]
Yeah, great question. Let us know. We really want to know. But we're not here to talk about winter.
Amanda:
[00:03:49 - 00:03:55]
And we as much are going to visit a place in our minds that does not have even remotely close to snow.
Kip:
[00:03:55 - 00:04:03]
I would have loved you know how we're talking about like filler episodes. I would have loved a lost Christmas special.
Theresa:
[00:04:04 - 00:04:05]
Like that would have been fun.
Kip:
[00:04:05 - 00:04:07]
I don't know if I mean they're there for they.
Amanda:
[00:04:07 - 00:04:15]
But they would be. That's why I don't know if you guys getting lost Doc. Our friends at getting lost documentary posted a Thanksgiving.
Kip:
[00:04:16 - 00:04:17]
Oh, I didn't see that.
Amanda:
[00:04:17 - 00:04:21]
No thing. And it was like them all at that promo shot of them all kind of like the Last Supper.
Kip:
[00:04:21 - 00:04:22]
Right.
Amanda:
[00:04:22 - 00:04:42]
And then so that kind of like was their way of I think saying like that would be kind of the equivalent. And then in one of the lost groups we follow there they would have been because if they crash on September they would have had Thanksgiving on the island. So. Yeah, I agree. Like what? Why not? Right? Like little throwaway like Hurley trying to.
Kip:
[00:04:42 - 00:04:44]
Yeah. Plan a little Christmas.
Theresa:
[00:04:44 - 00:04:45]
Yeah.
Kip:
[00:04:45 - 00:04:54]
Little gift exchange things you find in the. In the fusela well, they don't have that anymore, but, like the jungle or whatever, Dharma Station, they're in DIY something.
Amanda:
[00:04:54 - 00:05:01]
But as Paulo started to allude to, I think, a bit in this episode, they have different priorities here on the island than Thanksgiving.
Kip:
[00:05:01 - 00:05:37]
Oh, yes. All right. Okay. So we are here to talk about an episode called Every man for Himself, written by Edward Kitces and Adam Horowitz, directed by Stephen Williams. And the synopsis goes like this. When Sawyer tries to escape, Ben puts a safeguard in place to guarantee his cooperation. The others demand that Jack operate on a gunshot victim. But the wrong X ray reveals a secret about one of them. In a flashback, Sawyer tries to warn a fellow prisoner not to trust anyone. My stuff. Ready?
Amanda:
[00:05:37 - 00:05:45]
This is a good episode. I'll just say, well, it keeps getting ready. But, I mean, this is. This is. That's good synopsis, too.
Theresa:
[00:05:45 - 00:05:49]
Yeah, it's actually decent. Yeah, it does enough without giving too much.
Kip:
[00:05:49 - 00:05:50]
Exactly.
Amanda:
[00:05:50 - 00:05:55]
I like how they do the flashback. They always tell you what the flashback's going to be, too.
Kip:
[00:05:55 - 00:05:56]
Yeah.
Amanda:
[00:05:56 - 00:05:57]
Okay, ready?
Kip:
[00:05:57 - 00:06:14]
All right, so, IMDb rating, 8.3 out of 10. Up from last week. 7.9. The viewership was also up from last week to 17 million. And obviously, we had a very high Sawyer nickname count today. And he guesses on the amount.
Amanda:
[00:06:14 - 00:06:15]
Like eight.
Kip:
[00:06:15 - 00:06:16]
Very close.
Theresa:
[00:06:17 - 00:06:18]
Nine.
Kip:
[00:06:18 - 00:06:19]
Too high.
Theresa:
[00:06:19 - 00:06:20]
Seven.
Kip:
[00:06:20 - 00:06:25]
Seven. Yeah. Sound them out. Guess which ones, Freckles.
Amanda:
[00:06:25 - 00:06:28]
Doc. He calls.
Kip:
[00:06:28 - 00:06:29]
I think he says Doc.
Amanda:
[00:06:29 - 00:06:31]
Well, he yells Doc at him.
Kip:
[00:06:31 - 00:06:36]
Oh, right. Yeah. I actually didn't count that. So eight. Yeah. Okay. Yeah.
Amanda:
[00:06:36 - 00:06:39]
He calls Munson something that I don't.
Theresa:
[00:06:40 - 00:06:41]
He calls Munson.
Kip:
[00:06:41 - 00:06:42]
Calls him Costanza.
Amanda:
[00:06:43 - 00:06:43]
Nice.
Kip:
[00:06:43 - 00:06:46]
And he also calls him Murgatroyd.
Amanda:
[00:06:46 - 00:06:46]
Yeah.
Kip:
[00:06:46 - 00:06:47]
Which I don't know what that is.
Theresa:
[00:06:47 - 00:06:48]
I don't either.
Amanda:
[00:06:48 - 00:06:50]
And then he calls Danny something.
Kip:
[00:06:50 - 00:06:51]
Chinatown.
Amanda:
[00:06:51 - 00:06:54]
So weird. And then there's one nickname before Chinatown as well.
Kip:
[00:06:54 - 00:07:04]
I think Chinatown was the first one I called. But then he calls. I think. I don't know if it's Kate. Someone else, sweetheart. I can't remember who. Then Costanza. Murgatroyd. He calls someone Hoss.
Amanda:
[00:07:06 - 00:07:06]
Danny.
Kip:
[00:07:06 - 00:07:11]
That's Danny or Ben. Killer. He calls someone killer.
Amanda:
[00:07:12 - 00:07:14]
Also. Maybe could be Ben or Danny.
Kip:
[00:07:14 - 00:07:18]
Yeah. And then Freckles. So plus Doc. That's eight.
Amanda:
[00:07:18 - 00:07:20]
Yeah. Because him and Kate, when they're yelling.
Kip:
[00:07:20 - 00:07:20]
Yeah.
Amanda:
[00:07:20 - 00:07:22]
She's yelling Jack. He's yelling Doc.
Kip:
[00:07:22 - 00:07:23]
Right.
Amanda:
[00:07:23 - 00:07:24]
Yeah.
Kip:
[00:07:24 - 00:07:25]
So, yeah. Big one.
Amanda:
[00:07:25 - 00:07:31]
Is it a nickname if there's. The person who's. There, isn't there to receive it? It's a philosophical question, I believe so.
Kip:
[00:07:31 - 00:07:37]
We do end days 70 to 71 on the island. So getting up there.
Amanda:
[00:07:37 - 00:07:39]
Which puts them past Thanksgiving, for sure.
Kip:
[00:07:39 - 00:07:49]
Absolutely. All right, two trivia questions for you today. Okay. Which set is reused from a previous episode?
Amanda:
[00:07:50 - 00:07:51]
I'm.
Kip:
[00:07:51 - 00:07:54]
That. That. In. In. Well, I can't say.
Amanda:
[00:07:56 - 00:08:05]
Wait, what the, like, sewing room in the jail? Is it the jail?
Kip:
[00:08:05 - 00:08:25]
The jail? Yeah, Yeah. I was gonna say it's in the flashback, but the whole thing's in the jail, so. Gave it away. Yeah. From when Desmond was in jail in Live Together, Die Alone. Okay, next question. How many or. Sorry. How long until we see another Sawyer centric episode? And, like, what season?
Amanda:
[00:08:29 - 00:08:36]
Well, is the man from Tallahassee is not him, right? It's Ben. Right. It's not. Is that a flashback of Sawyers?
Kip:
[00:08:37 - 00:08:38]
I don't know.
Amanda:
[00:08:38 - 00:08:41]
Because that's in season four. Right.
Theresa:
[00:08:44 - 00:08:45]
I'm uncomfortable.
Amanda:
[00:08:45 - 00:08:46]
It's got to be this season.
Kip:
[00:08:46 - 00:08:48]
I cannot give hints.
Amanda:
[00:08:49 - 00:08:51]
It's this season. There's another Sawyer. When this season.
Kip:
[00:08:51 - 00:08:52]
Incorrect.
Amanda:
[00:08:53 - 00:08:54]
Season four.
Kip:
[00:08:54 - 00:08:55]
Incorrect.
Theresa:
[00:08:55 - 00:08:55]
Season five.
Kip:
[00:08:55 - 00:08:58]
Season five is the next Sawyer centric episode.
Theresa:
[00:08:58 - 00:08:59]
That's insane.
Kip:
[00:09:00 - 00:09:01]
Isn't that weird?
Amanda:
[00:09:01 - 00:09:02]
I don't care for that.
Theresa:
[00:09:02 - 00:09:03]
That's a long time.
Kip:
[00:09:03 - 00:09:05]
It seems absolutely insane.
Theresa:
[00:09:05 - 00:09:06]
Yeah, it seems like a little too long.
Kip:
[00:09:06 - 00:09:07]
Unless I'm.
Amanda:
[00:09:07 - 00:09:16]
But I do think it's because I do think that, like, you know, there's some episodes in our mind that we associate with certain characters, but they aren't centric. I think man from Tallahassee is one.
Kip:
[00:09:16 - 00:09:25]
Yeah, I. I think that's actually a John Locke episode. Yeah, it's either John or Ben, but Sawyer is. Plays a very pivotal role, I'd say.
Amanda:
[00:09:25 - 00:09:29]
Yeah, of course.
Theresa:
[00:09:30 - 00:09:30]
Geez.
Amanda:
[00:09:31 - 00:09:31]
Oh, man.
Theresa:
[00:09:32 - 00:09:33]
Everybody knows that.
Kip:
[00:09:33 - 00:09:33]
Everybody.
Amanda:
[00:09:34 - 00:11:02]
I do have a high level takeaway from today, but it actually comes more from our conversation with our friend of ours that we hung out with this week for the first time in a very long time. And we were talking about how she's a great supporter of our podcast, and she was talking about how we used to watch show together years and years ago, and she was commenting on how I'm very consistent with my hatred of Kate. And Kip actually defended me, saying that he thought that I was kind of coming around a little bit. And I think that's true. We can all accept that. Which led me to really think about why that is. And I do really think the high level takeaway, not from even this episode, but the show as a whole, is it. A lot of people who love Lost do watch it over and over again, but even if you're more of a fan, that's like not a big re Watcher of things. I implore you to watch it at different stages in your life because I do think you will take away different things from from it, and you'll relate to characters differently and you'll understand different characters more. And I think that is why Kate is not better. But even just the way we treat women nowadays as a society, which is still terrible, but hopefully at least somewhat better, I just think that I view her differently in light of a lot of that. So if you have only watched it like a couple times or once years ago and you're not a big fan of rewatching shows, I think this is a good one to rewatch and to really view where you're at in life with how you relate to everyone.
Theresa:
[00:11:02 - 00:11:03]
I agree.
Kip:
[00:11:03 - 00:11:23]
Yeah. I think all of our opinions on certain aspects, characters, themes, different things have changed since we first watched it. Even throughout the recording, we were like, oh, when we first watched it, we really related to this character or really related to that story. And then it's kind of like not so much anymore. Like, it is interesting how it can change.
Amanda:
[00:11:24 - 00:11:27]
That leads us to the most important takeaway of any episode.
Kip:
[00:11:27 - 00:11:29]
Teresa's stream of consciousness.
Theresa:
[00:11:31 - 00:12:26]
Also, every man for himself. Okay. Hi, Des. No more wearing Hurley shirt. I see. Seriously? That's a really big, like two to three month old baby. I just like that everyone's accepted dez. And of course, there's Charlie. Immediately talk immediately appearing once anybody even remotely speaks to Claire. Who gets to watch tv. Oh, it's Jack. He looks a little better today. And he's nicely trained to sit in the corner. No longer attacking Juliet, which is nice. Oh, Jack is getting feisty. Maybe Jack isn't wrong. Juliet. Also, what sub. Oh, Danny's gonna kill someone once he finds out about Colleen. Well, don't be so happy about someone getting shot. Sawyer. Jeez, what's Sawyer up to? Sawyer's quite the smart particle.
Kip:
[00:12:27 - 00:12:28]
Particle.
Theresa:
[00:12:29 - 00:12:48]
He can take a jolt. Wowza. Oh, it's every man for himself. You want to leave, Jackaroni? That's not nice. Oh, I didn't know they sewed in jail. Man, Sawyer looks real cute in jail. And this warden's such an. Oh, and here comes Benjamin. So weird for Jack to call him Benjamin. Not just Ben.
Kip:
[00:12:48 - 00:12:49]
Yeah.
Theresa:
[00:12:50 - 00:16:26]
Oh, of course they turned off the power. Oh, my God. Ben isn't just brain, apparently. That's terrifying. It looks so painful. Why saw your strapped to a table. What the are they doing? What the actual is happening? I have hell anxiety. Hello, sir. But also, you're kind of douchey. Oh, DEZ is just so friendly. That wound is not in the sternum. It looks like they missed. What happened to the bunny? Why is he shaking a bunny? This is crazy. This is legitimately batshit. Did Ben just kill a bunny? What the did they do to Sawyer? They put a pacemaker in. Is that sterile or safe? Would you believe them? Like, I like clear. They're kind of just with him, right? Like, who put in a pacemaker? Shouldn't the incision be bigger? And they wouldn't have just used a needle. You may not be killers, but this is a psychological. I need to look up what a pacemaker incision looks like. Where do Kate and Sawyer go? Poop and pee. Oh, he does have an incision, not just a needle hole. Oh, dear. Sawyer's so into her. Wait, who's this lady now? And why is she visiting him? Oh, dang. He's got a baby. A Sawyer looks upset at knowing he's got a baby. Oh, now Kate is looking at her cage. Poor Sawyer can't tell her anything. Ooh, Juliet needs Jack. What's this alarm now? Oh, Jack's being moved. Ah. So Jack can't hear them scream for him. I getcha. Oh, my God. Jack and Juliet are so hot together. Oh, God, Juliet looks so broken. This is actually so sad. I know. Colin is another, but God damn. Oh, wait. Why is Danny wet? Oh, my God. What is happening? What is happening? This is brutal. Oh, she loves him. Or maybe she just said that. I love that Sawyer's always been a reader. How is Sawyer gonna move money from jail? Oh, there's a teensy smile there, so you know something's going on. What the hell? She's. Kate's so spry. She really is good at climbing. I love that she knows him so well, but they're so heartbreaking together. Oh, she won't take Sawyer's ma, but she'll take Jax. Very powerful stuff. But that's up chaining him to a corpse. Jack's arms are gorgeous this season. God, this episode is just chock full of lengthy. Looks like Jack and Juliet stares at each other. Oh, my God. Jack knows all that right away. Dang he quick. That's a cute little cornucopia that Hurley has. I think DEZ Safem. I would die if I woke up to Ben sting me. Oh, he's so good at getting info out of people. Oh, Sawyer. That's sweet of them to make. That's sweet of him to make the commission out to her. Where's Ben taking him? Should he be hiking in his quote unquote condition? And since when is Ben so spry? I thought it would be an issue for him to be hiking. Called it. I knew they didn't do anything to him. They don't have that kind of capability. No way. Ben just climbed up a hill with a bunny in his bag. That's. What the hell am I looking at? He's not on the island. Why show him this? Oh, there's nowhere to run. I getcha. Or they could swim, maybe. Or maybe a boat. Oh, damn. I mean, I gotta give points for this one. Damn. Oh. I knew Ben read of Mice and Men. This whole thing is messed up. Just two con men conning each other. It's the end.
Amanda:
[00:16:28 - 00:16:36]
Wow. First of all, Sawyer looks cute in prison is not necessarily the attitude you want to be taking.
Kip:
[00:16:36 - 00:16:39]
I mean, I liked his hair. That weird little half ponytail.
Theresa:
[00:16:39 - 00:16:40]
Yeah, he looked cute.
Kip:
[00:16:40 - 00:16:40]
It was cute.
Theresa:
[00:16:40 - 00:16:42]
He looked cute in jail. I'm sorry.
Kip:
[00:16:42 - 00:16:44]
That's the only time I've seen him wear his hair like that.
Theresa:
[00:16:44 - 00:16:48]
Usually he's greasy. I'm like, just hair everywhere, dirty.
Amanda:
[00:16:48 - 00:16:52]
Well, he's very dirty right now. That's.
Theresa:
[00:16:52 - 00:16:57]
Can I not appreciate that he looks good in jail? That sounded wrong.
Amanda:
[00:16:57 - 00:17:00]
Yeah, exactly. Like that's why. But. Okay.
Kip:
[00:17:00 - 00:17:03]
I mean, I don't know. Why is that wrong?
Amanda:
[00:17:03 - 00:17:05]
It's not wrong. I just thought it was an interesting.
Theresa:
[00:17:05 - 00:17:07]
It just sounds weird to say that someone looks good in jail.
Amanda:
[00:17:07 - 00:17:09]
You could have just said, he looks.
Kip:
[00:17:09 - 00:17:10]
Good in that scene.
Theresa:
[00:17:10 - 00:17:11]
He looked good in his jail.
Kip:
[00:17:11 - 00:17:13]
Scenes in his jail. I see. Yeah.
Amanda:
[00:17:13 - 00:17:15]
Okay, fair enough.
Kip:
[00:17:15 - 00:17:18]
Yeah. That was weird. When he called him Benjamin. I also was like.
Theresa:
[00:17:18 - 00:17:20]
It was really weird. He's like, where's Benjamin?
Amanda:
[00:17:20 - 00:17:21]
Where's Benjamin?
Kip:
[00:17:21 - 00:17:22]
Should I talk to Benjamin?
Amanda:
[00:17:22 - 00:17:27]
Also, did you not remember that that woman was the. The woman he conned in that?
Theresa:
[00:17:27 - 00:17:28]
Initially, no.
Kip:
[00:17:28 - 00:17:28]
Okay.
Amanda:
[00:17:28 - 00:17:29]
Okay.
Kip:
[00:17:29 - 00:17:29]
Yeah.
Amanda:
[00:17:29 - 00:17:33]
But you did start to remember. Yes, yes, yes. And it sounds like that's why he's in jail.
Theresa:
[00:17:33 - 00:17:39]
When she straight up said, yeah, you conned me. And I was like, oh, I gotcha.
Kip:
[00:17:39 - 00:17:41]
Yeah. So. So she pressed charges.
Theresa:
[00:17:41 - 00:17:41]
Cassidy.
Kip:
[00:17:41 - 00:17:42]
Cassidy. That's it.
Amanda:
[00:17:42 - 00:18:00]
Yeah. And then that was. That was good. Okay, I just. So, as we know, Kip always writes notes for us. And I just have to say, before we get into anything else, the last note is, what was the B plot again? And that's hilarious to me because the B plot was Desmond. Yes.
Kip:
[00:18:00 - 00:18:20]
Yeah, I know. And I. Like, I. There was a split second where I forgot, but then I'm like, oh, yeah. But then like, kind of. What was that again? Because it's like it felt so. Didn't even feel like. I get. I understand it. I get that they're building up Desmond's weird new abilities or his Whatever it is, but it just was. It felt so forgettable and it's.
Amanda:
[00:18:20 - 00:18:22]
And it's like, so let's just get it out of the way.
Kip:
[00:18:22 - 00:18:23]
Yeah.
Amanda:
[00:18:23 - 00:18:43]
So he. These new abilities. And I think not only are they building up his new abilities, but that Charlie is going to be able to pick up on them. Because now Charlie's been in involved first and last episode where he said the whole thing about the powerful speech lock gives and how it hadn't happened and Charlie was able to pick up on that.
Kip:
[00:18:45 - 00:18:46]
And now with the whole.
Amanda:
[00:18:46 - 00:18:53]
And now with this. Claire, I will say I. I agree that it's kind of silly, but I think Desmond is so good at it.
Kip:
[00:18:53 - 00:18:53]
Oh, yeah.
Amanda:
[00:18:53 - 00:18:55]
Like, it's very subtle.
Kip:
[00:18:55 - 00:19:02]
I wouldn't say it was silly. I just feel like it was. The A plot was so good.
Amanda:
[00:19:03 - 00:19:03]
Yeah.
Kip:
[00:19:03 - 00:19:21]
That it was almost like I. They. They just had to have a B plot because they had to do something with the other cast. But still, it was almost like even the writers were just like, we have. We have to do something. We just want to focus on Sawyer and Ben and Kate and Jack. Because it was like, that was so good.
Amanda:
[00:19:22 - 00:19:27]
What do we think of this? Like, I alluded to it before, but this whole, like, Paulo.
Kip:
[00:19:27 - 00:19:27]
Oh, yeah.
Amanda:
[00:19:27 - 00:19:31]
Kind of like, do we find it clever that he's pointing out how ridiculous.
Kip:
[00:19:32 - 00:19:47]
I thought it was kind of funny. Like. Like they're. That they, like, set it up and they're setting up this idea of, like, the other castaways either being jealous or annoyed. Or annoyed that they're always running amok and doing crazy things.
Amanda:
[00:19:47 - 00:19:48]
That's what I mean.
Kip:
[00:19:48 - 00:19:57]
They don't really know maybe what's going on. And they're just sort of like, on this. Do they. Do they just think that they're just stranded on this island? And do they not know, like, it's.
Amanda:
[00:19:57 - 00:20:15]
So I can pick up kind of like it's Paulo's suggestion. Like, you guys are idiots. Like, that's kind of what I got is like, at least if you, you know, take this one, I don't have to go looking for it when you die in the bush or whatever. Like, it kind of. I got the impression that, like, he's suggesting that they're all ridiculous.
Kip:
[00:20:15 - 00:20:19]
I got the impression that it was like, we're not in the cool club.
Amanda:
[00:20:19 - 00:20:20]
Yeah.
Kip:
[00:20:20 - 00:20:23]
That you guys have all these adventures, and we just all stay on the beach.
Amanda:
[00:20:24 - 00:20:24]
Yeah.
Kip:
[00:20:24 - 00:20:26]
That was sort of the take I. I got.
Theresa:
[00:20:26 - 00:20:26]
Yeah.
Amanda:
[00:20:26 - 00:20:35]
So, like. But is this necessary? Like, to have this kind of, like, no. Surrogate audience member almost? Of like. No, I. I just. I think it's a little silly.
Kip:
[00:20:35 - 00:20:39]
No. And I think they're only putting it in because it leads to things in a few.
Amanda:
[00:20:39 - 00:20:40]
Yeah.
Kip:
[00:20:40 - 00:20:44]
The next few episodes. But I. I think the whole thing is not important.
Theresa:
[00:20:44 - 00:20:47]
No, me neither. It felt kind of like a throwaway.
Kip:
[00:20:47 - 00:20:48]
Yeah.
Amanda:
[00:20:48 - 00:20:49]
But.
Kip:
[00:20:49 - 00:20:50]
Okay, that's funny.
Amanda:
[00:20:50 - 00:20:53]
So that's the B plot. We solved it in one.
Kip:
[00:20:53 - 00:20:58]
Yeah. And the baby is very big. Huge, huge. Life from lightning.
Amanda:
[00:20:58 - 00:20:59]
That was cool.
Kip:
[00:20:59 - 00:21:15]
It was cool. And I just kind of also laughed that he built this crazy contraption to put connecting, like, this stand that's like, oh, yeah. 15ft tall. And lightning rod has this golf club in it in, like, a matter of hours.
Amanda:
[00:21:15 - 00:21:24]
I also love when. So it is this art. I laughed out loud at that.
Kip:
[00:21:24 - 00:21:25]
I was like, I love that.
Amanda:
[00:21:25 - 00:21:27]
Oh, my goodness, Harley, you're so cute.
Kip:
[00:21:27 - 00:21:29]
It was worth it just for that line.
Amanda:
[00:21:29 - 00:21:30]
Is this art?
Theresa:
[00:21:30 - 00:21:31]
Art?
Kip:
[00:21:32 - 00:21:33]
So funny.
Amanda:
[00:21:33 - 00:21:34]
So funny.
Kip:
[00:21:35 - 00:21:35]
Yeah.
Amanda:
[00:21:36 - 00:21:36]
Oh.
Kip:
[00:21:37 - 00:21:48]
So we'll. Obviously, we'll get in more episodes. We'll get more of what's going on here. They're just kind of sprinkling it in these first few episodes, so. All right, let's tackle it. Let's get back to Sawyer.
Theresa:
[00:21:48 - 00:21:58]
Oh, man. Oh, man. So much happening. Should we start with this flashy, or should we start with his off island?
Amanda:
[00:21:58 - 00:22:00]
You mean on island.
Theresa:
[00:22:00 - 00:22:02]
Technically, he's off island.
Amanda:
[00:22:02 - 00:22:03]
Sorry.
Kip:
[00:22:03 - 00:22:04]
It's on.
Amanda:
[00:22:05 - 00:22:06]
He's on an island.
Theresa:
[00:22:06 - 00:22:08]
He's just not on his island.
Kip:
[00:22:09 - 00:22:17]
Yeah. Do, like. Let's talk about flashy. Are we talking about jail? Yeah.
Theresa:
[00:22:17 - 00:22:19]
Flashback flashy first.
Amanda:
[00:22:19 - 00:22:24]
Probably a place where he was going to inevitably end up 100%.
Kip:
[00:22:28 - 00:22:28]
Yeah.
Amanda:
[00:22:29 - 00:22:34]
So when we meet him in jail, he's cute. We've already established looking fine.
Kip:
[00:22:34 - 00:22:37]
Apparently, he's actually boxing.
Theresa:
[00:22:37 - 00:22:38]
Yeah, I know.
Amanda:
[00:22:38 - 00:22:39]
Yeah, I know.
Theresa:
[00:22:42 - 00:22:43]
Wow.
Kip:
[00:22:44 - 00:22:55]
Yeah. So he's in this boxing match in jail. Yeah. Which seemed like fun. They were having fun. Like. Like, it was like a jolly good match. Because they're, like, laughing with each other after.
Amanda:
[00:22:55 - 00:22:58]
Yeah. Like, it seems like. Let's just say, like, Sawyer's thriving.
Kip:
[00:22:58 - 00:23:00]
I was gonna say he doesn't seem that hard.
Amanda:
[00:23:01 - 00:23:02]
He's thriving.
Kip:
[00:23:02 - 00:23:02]
Yeah.
Amanda:
[00:23:02 - 00:23:39]
Yeah. No, it seems like he's got some. He's got some friends or whatever. And then they come across this Munson character who is getting beat up in jail. And then it sets up this Idea that Sawyer and the warden are at odds, like, more so than enemies. Yeah. And that he's gonna. It's very clear from that scene that he's gonna try to get in with Munson and figure out where his money. This money he's missing is. So. Yeah. And then we just kind of see that. And then Cassidy does come to visit him and tells him about Clem.
Kip:
[00:23:39 - 00:23:40]
Clement.
Theresa:
[00:23:40 - 00:23:42]
Yeah, Clementine. Yeah, Clementine.
Kip:
[00:23:42 - 00:23:50]
So what was the. We. We learn about Clementine, and Sawyer freaks out. But, like, what do we. What do we make of this?
Amanda:
[00:23:50 - 00:24:16]
So I'm. I'm just kind of confused as to why she decided to come and do that. Then he doesn't really let her finish. Right. Like, she just kind of says, like, we're living in Albuquerque. I thought maybe you could write her a letter. And he doesn't really let her finish. So I know we don't really get it, but, like, I was always just a little bit curious, like, what is Cassidy's. Like, what do. What do you think she's trying to accomplish by kind of confronting him at this time with this.
Kip:
[00:24:16 - 00:24:38]
I don't know. Cuz she seems like in her delivery, it's like, you know, we're living near the. The university, and, oh, this is your beautiful daughter. Like, she seems almost like she wants him involved. Yeah. And like, this is, like, casual conversation that, like, it seemed odd.
Amanda:
[00:24:38 - 00:25:05]
It did. Like, especially if she's kind of the reason he's there. Like, this idea that, like. And, like, the baby looks a little bit older, but it's lost. So that baby could be 14 minutes old. It's hard to say, but it did seem like the child was at least a few. Several months old, for sure. So then it's like, why now? Why, like, is she. Because I know we. When we left Cassidy, it. She was happy to run off with him still. Right. It was really him that ch.
Kip:
[00:25:05 - 00:25:05]
Yeah.
Amanda:
[00:25:05 - 00:25:10]
So there was a part of me that's like, would she want to have him back in her life at this point?
Kip:
[00:25:10 - 00:25:12]
That's what it sounds. That's what it sounds like.
Amanda:
[00:25:12 - 00:25:21]
Yeah. Or is it just because she, in theory, thinks she's. He's in there for at least another six years. Right.
Kip:
[00:25:21 - 00:25:24]
Well, she asks him to write her a letter.
Amanda:
[00:25:24 - 00:25:24]
Yeah.
Kip:
[00:25:24 - 00:25:26]
And so it's like.
Amanda:
[00:25:27 - 00:25:30]
Maybe she just does want him to have some sort of.
Kip:
[00:25:30 - 00:25:41]
Maybe. Maybe she's just like, this is the. This is the dad and he should know, and I just got to rip the band aid off and he can do what. What he wants. But.
Amanda:
[00:25:41 - 00:25:48]
Yeah, I mean, Sometimes it's better to still know where your father is and kind of what he's about than to, like, not just think he doesn't care. Right.
Kip:
[00:25:49 - 00:25:58]
Well, so here's Responses are pretty good. When she says, do you. I want you. Right. What am I right? Dear Goo Goo Gaga.
Amanda:
[00:25:59 - 00:26:29]
Oh, I actually did think his reactions to her were very true to form. Like, what, you want me to be like, daddy dearest or whatever? You know he's not going to do that. Right. And that was funny. Like, writer a letter. Because I actually. When she said that, my first reaction was, why would you write her a letter? She's a baby. For later, I guess. But, like, that was also my first thing. I was like, write her a letter. And then he's like, oh, what am I gonna say? Like, I mean, it's a fair question.
Kip:
[00:26:29 - 00:26:36]
Yeah, I. I think it was reasonable, his response. And he just kind of gets out. But then we do later learn that he does care.
Amanda:
[00:26:37 - 00:26:38]
I cried. I cried.
Kip:
[00:26:38 - 00:26:40]
Like, he sets up that whole thing for her.
Amanda:
[00:26:40 - 00:26:45]
So that. And that's, I think, who he is. Right. Like, he can't deal with the emotional part.
Kip:
[00:26:45 - 00:26:45]
Yeah.
Amanda:
[00:26:45 - 00:27:23]
But he does care. And that's kind of. Again, this is another. With the exception of Sons, all these episodes so far have been very, like. It's very clear why we're learning this piece of Sawyer's history in this episode. Right. It's this idea that, like, he doesn't know how to show he cares. Like, he doesn't know how to show emotion. He doesn't know how to deal, and he'll do whatever he can to survive. Like, that's the truth of this. And when he freaks out about hearing about Clementine, it's because he's like, overrun with the emotion of this idea that this person has him as a father. Right. Like, at the end of the day, he knows what it's like to have a shitty family. And he never wanted to do that for someone. Right.
Kip:
[00:27:23 - 00:27:24]
Yeah, exactly.
Amanda:
[00:27:24 - 00:27:32]
And he wants her to be good and taken care of and he cares. He just. He can't let that part in. Right.
Kip:
[00:27:32 - 00:27:36]
Yeah. I think he knows he's not equipped for that right now.
Theresa:
[00:27:36 - 00:27:36]
Yeah.
Kip:
[00:27:36 - 00:28:03]
So instead of trying and failing, he's just not even going to try. But he'll show it in other ways. Like, here's the money. It's anonymous. Even though obviously Cassidy's gonna know where it came from. But, like, there's no trace or whatever he says. So. So, I mean, and then that ties in with the rest of the spin off or not spin off. Sorry. The flashback of. Of they. He cons Munson. Yeah, I was gonna say that.
Amanda:
[00:28:03 - 00:28:16]
Did you guys all feel like that's where that was going? Like that he was gonna, like, double cross him? I knew he'd always double cross him, but I remember when I first watched it, I wasn't completely convinced that until that scene that he was working with the warden and the feds.
Kip:
[00:28:16 - 00:28:40]
I don't. I think I. I think I was also, until the end, didn't really know what was going on the first time I watched it because I think I didn't catch on. But this time I remember thinking, like, oh, the scene with the warden and Sawyer in the sewing room, like, felt so over the top. Like, just for months in sake to get like. I was like, yeah, it makes sense.
Amanda:
[00:28:40 - 00:28:41]
Yeah.
Kip:
[00:28:41 - 00:28:42]
And sewing.
Amanda:
[00:28:43 - 00:28:49]
Yeah. Sewing do a lot, I think are made by prisoners in the U.S. oh, wow. Yeah.
Theresa:
[00:28:49 - 00:28:53]
Because he does say, like, I have to go back to making license plates or something like that. Yeah.
Amanda:
[00:28:53 - 00:28:58]
I think in Canada, they still actually, like. I think maybe if you do stuff, you would still get some sort.
Kip:
[00:28:58 - 00:29:00]
I think you get paid paid.
Amanda:
[00:29:00 - 00:29:05]
Like, not maybe what it's worth, but like, yeah, you get paid. I think it's just like, a part of their living in this country.
Theresa:
[00:29:05 - 00:29:06]
Okay.
Amanda:
[00:29:06 - 00:29:06]
Yeah.
Kip:
[00:29:06 - 00:29:08]
They don't get paid for anything. I don't think.
Amanda:
[00:29:08 - 00:29:09]
They don't get to vote.
Kip:
[00:29:09 - 00:29:10]
No. It's very weird.
Amanda:
[00:29:10 - 00:29:13]
It's crazy. Prisoners can't vote in America.
Kip:
[00:29:13 - 00:29:14]
I don't understand that.
Amanda:
[00:29:14 - 00:29:18]
Like, they literally strip them of all the rights. Yeah, it's crazy.
Kip:
[00:29:18 - 00:29:19]
Yeah.
Amanda:
[00:29:20 - 00:29:52]
Anyway, that's just. No to our American listeners. We find that crazy. Write your congressman or however it works. So it's not surprising to me that Sawyer like that. That scene, though, is. Is interesting because the warning, you can tell, like, they still don't like each other. And the warning's like, good. You cheated and lied out of prison. And I'm. There's a part of me that was like, both completely expected Sawyer to do something like that, but I was also, like, a little bit disappointed in him. And also, why would they commute his sentence and give you a cut of.
Kip:
[00:29:52 - 00:29:54]
I had a note of them. Like, would they do both? I don't think so.
Theresa:
[00:29:55 - 00:29:56]
I feel like it would be one or the other.
Kip:
[00:29:56 - 00:29:59]
And I don't even know if they would commute six years.
Amanda:
[00:29:59 - 00:30:20]
They never give him a dime, it sounds like. So I have so many issues with this. Just as like a. From a storytelling perspective, if that is his baby, maybe, and maybe the baby's Older, like, maybe that's just he. She showed her, like a photo from before and now she's actually like three. But do we know exactly how long he's been in prison?
Kip:
[00:30:20 - 00:30:22]
I don't think so, no.
Amanda:
[00:30:22 - 00:30:35]
Because if that's like a true to form photo and that baby's like, let's say a year, even once a year, that means at the most, he's been in jail for like a year and nine months.
Theresa:
[00:30:35 - 00:30:36]
Yeah.
Amanda:
[00:30:36 - 00:30:47]
Oh, yeah, right. And that means they commuted 3/4 the majority of his sentence for that.
Kip:
[00:30:47 - 00:30:50]
I mean, 10 million bucks from the government.
Amanda:
[00:30:50 - 00:30:52]
I don't. Do you think the government would do that?
Kip:
[00:30:52 - 00:30:54]
Then I was thinking, like, oh, I don't think so.
Amanda:
[00:30:54 - 00:30:57]
No, no, no. But like, for 10 million, maybe. 10 billion?
Kip:
[00:30:57 - 00:31:01]
Yeah. The IRS. 10 million is like, not that much, I don't think.
Amanda:
[00:31:02 - 00:31:04]
I just don't think they would commute that much off of his sentence.
Kip:
[00:31:04 - 00:31:05]
Give him a cut.
Amanda:
[00:31:06 - 00:31:09]
Well, I. I absolutely never do not think they would give him a cut.
Kip:
[00:31:09 - 00:31:12]
Like, that's the government's money. They're getting it all back.
Amanda:
[00:31:12 - 00:31:18]
If they're gonna get it back and then have to give some of it away, they're definitely not going to do that. I think they'd commute his sentence.
Kip:
[00:31:18 - 00:31:19]
Yeah.
Amanda:
[00:31:19 - 00:31:20]
Before they would.
Kip:
[00:31:20 - 00:31:21]
There's no way.
Amanda:
[00:31:22 - 00:31:41]
I definitely wouldn't do both. And like, I really hope that Clementine's like 10 and he's. They're actually really cutting off like a third of his sentence or less. Because I, as a citizen, I'm not sure I agree with commuting six years off of a felon sentence so that the government can recoup $10 million.
Kip:
[00:31:41 - 00:31:42]
I know, it's crazy.
Amanda:
[00:31:42 - 00:31:46]
That was like, that's crazy. As an already non American citizen, of.
Kip:
[00:31:46 - 00:32:00]
Course, but, like, why do you think we're learning about Sawyer's daughter? Like, the fact that he's having a daughter. I know it comes up later in the show in the series, but not a lot.
Amanda:
[00:32:00 - 00:33:18]
No. I think it's to show truly, like, that conversation him and Ben have at the end where he's talking about Kate and how, like, he will refuse to show you keep trying to show Kate how much you don't care. You won't let her in. And this idea of, like, you have to let people in. I think it's just to show, like, another facet of what he's like, refusing to allow in. Right. Because we've seen how he can't connect with cat capacity and how he wouldn't let her in. We've seen how he has no, like, familial. And we see that kind of play out with how, like, he distances himself so much from people on the island. I think it's just like another facet of that. Like, Sawyer cannot allow any. There's no room in Sawyer's life for any sort of emotional connections. And the way he treats Kate and how he is kind of letting her in to some degree, which is really not even that much, is actually like a really big step for him. And I. I don't know if it's supposed to show us that he just care. Like, I was never clear if it was supposed to be. I think it depends on how you look at it. If you look at it as purely like a love story or more of like the character driven that I kind of see this show as. But it's either supposed to show us that he loves Kate so much more than he's ever loved anyone, or he's changing and becoming more capable of.
Theresa:
[00:33:18 - 00:33:23]
I like the idea that he's changing more than. Than it being that he loves her so much. They barely know each other.
Amanda:
[00:33:23 - 00:33:51]
But that idea. Right. That he. Like, he said, like Ben says, like, you clearly care so much about her, and it is. It's very. Like, why do you have to try to convince her all the time that you don't? Right. Like that scene where she's changing and his heart rate goes up and he just snaps at her about it. Right. And I get that he's not supposed to tell her about what's going on now. We're kind of going backwards. But I'm getting. Not supposed to tell her what's going on. But he could have. He just. He wants to be mean because he's constantly trying to push people away.
Kip:
[00:33:52 - 00:33:52]
Yeah.
Amanda:
[00:33:52 - 00:33:53]
Right.
Kip:
[00:33:53 - 00:34:07]
I. I was almost expecting Ben to say something like, help us in a way. We want you to. We'll tell you more later and we'll like. I thought Ben might bring up Clementine.
Amanda:
[00:34:07 - 00:34:08]
Yeah.
Kip:
[00:34:08 - 00:34:26]
Or something as, like, a connection to be. Like, if you want to get off and see Clementine again or if you want nothing bad to happen. Like, I thought there would be some connection to the on island thing, but there wasn't. Like. Or maybe it's just like, we believe Sawyer has something now off island to care about.
Amanda:
[00:34:26 - 00:34:26]
Yeah.
Kip:
[00:34:27 - 00:34:41]
Because, like, Kate doesn't really. Jack doesn't really. Up until now, we didn't really think Sawyer did. So I was like, oh, maybe he does have something off island to want to get going as a driver or something. But they did. They really didn't bring it up, like, that much. I was kind of surprised.
Amanda:
[00:34:41 - 00:34:49]
And is there, like. I'm just trying to remember, like, is there something Ben wants from Sawyer other than just using him and Kate to manipulate Jack?
Kip:
[00:34:49 - 00:34:50]
I don't know.
Amanda:
[00:34:50 - 00:34:51]
I don't think so.
Theresa:
[00:34:51 - 00:34:52]
I don't think so.
Amanda:
[00:34:52 - 00:35:20]
I think he kept Kate and Jack. Like, I think if he had just had Jack, he would have been fine with that. Because we're obviously towards the end, we're, like, understanding where this is going. They need Jack. That's going to become more apparent. That was hinted at or asked about, I guess, at the end. I think that if Jack had just shown up by himself, then they would have just taken Jack and it'll be fine. I think that when Jack was with Kate and Sawyer and the idea of having them. Oh, he didn't ask for all of them.
Kip:
[00:35:20 - 00:35:21]
He asked for them, so.
Amanda:
[00:35:21 - 00:35:23]
But he also asked for Hurley and then sent Hurley away.
Kip:
[00:35:24 - 00:35:27]
Yeah, I know the Hurley thing was weird, but anyway.
Amanda:
[00:35:27 - 00:35:34]
Okay. Yeah. So he asked for Katie, Jack. But I still think it was just because Kate. He's gonna use Kate and Sawyer to manipulate Jack.
Kip:
[00:35:34 - 00:35:35]
I mean, that has to be it.
Theresa:
[00:35:35 - 00:35:36]
Yeah.
Kip:
[00:35:36 - 00:35:42]
All right, so let's talk about the cages, the pacemaker, the conversation, everything.
Amanda:
[00:35:43 - 00:35:45]
Ben's a smart guy.
Kip:
[00:35:45 - 00:35:46]
He's too smart.
Amanda:
[00:35:46 - 00:35:49]
I was so upset when that bunny. I thought that bunny was.
Theresa:
[00:35:49 - 00:35:51]
That was ridiculous.
Amanda:
[00:35:51 - 00:35:52]
I choose to believe it's.
Theresa:
[00:35:52 - 00:35:54]
It was so violent. Like, yeah.
Amanda:
[00:35:54 - 00:35:55]
I did not.
Theresa:
[00:35:55 - 00:35:55]
It was just.
Kip:
[00:35:55 - 00:35:56]
I liked.
Theresa:
[00:35:56 - 00:35:56]
Oh, my God.
Kip:
[00:35:56 - 00:36:02]
I liked when Sawyer called him out and said, how do I know you didn't just paint an 8 on another bunny? He's like, you don't.
Theresa:
[00:36:02 - 00:36:04]
And then he just stuffs it back in the back.
Kip:
[00:36:04 - 00:36:06]
Like, he's carrying around this bunny. This poor bunny.
Amanda:
[00:36:06 - 00:36:07]
I know that bunny.
Theresa:
[00:36:07 - 00:36:09]
But, like, why was he carrying around the bunny up the hill?
Amanda:
[00:36:09 - 00:36:10]
To show him.
Theresa:
[00:36:10 - 00:36:12]
It's just so ridiculous.
Amanda:
[00:36:12 - 00:36:20]
Manipulation with Ben. Right. And it's all a mind game. Like, like you said when we were watching it, you're like. Because they're like, we don't kill people. And he's like, yeah, you just. With their minds.
Kip:
[00:36:20 - 00:36:47]
Like, so, okay, one of my questions. How do we feel about the others? Because, like, we're hit over the head with, like, we're the good guys. We don't kill people. We're not killers. But they're. And they're manipulative and they're violent and, like, okay, that were. Like, they're upset that Colleen got shot, and he's freaking out. I get that. That's his wife and everything. But it's like they boarded a boat armed, ready for violence. What the did you think might happen?
Amanda:
[00:36:47 - 00:37:04]
Well, they have. I know. And it's hard at this stage because, like, I'm not sure, because when Juliet's operating on her or when they're operating, and she says at one point, like, we, we're not. We don't do this. Like, we're not equipped for this kind of thing. I, I don't. It's so hard because I don't know what's manipulation right now. What isn't.
Kip:
[00:37:05 - 00:37:05]
I know.
Amanda:
[00:37:05 - 00:37:30]
It's the idea that they don't know how to do that, and they don't normally do that. It might just be that they're all freaking out and no one's handling it well. And. But I agree, like, they are kind of the instigators, whether they like it or not. They have, like, you're gonna be pissed off that you, like you said, boarded this boat armed while, you know, those individuals know you have some of their people captive.
Kip:
[00:37:30 - 00:37:30]
Exactly.
Amanda:
[00:37:30 - 00:37:36]
Well, they don't know what's in cages, but you know what I mean? Like, you're not exactly coming to this transaction with clean hands.
Kip:
[00:37:36 - 00:37:40]
Exactly. Like, oh, daddy's so awful.
Theresa:
[00:37:40 - 00:37:41]
Oh, I.
Kip:
[00:37:41 - 00:37:42]
So much. Yeah.
Theresa:
[00:37:42 - 00:37:45]
Too far. Too far, Danny. And why was he wet?
Kip:
[00:37:45 - 00:37:46]
What are you talking about?
Theresa:
[00:37:46 - 00:37:49]
When he came at Sawyer, he was, like, drenched.
Amanda:
[00:37:49 - 00:37:50]
It was raining.
Theresa:
[00:37:50 - 00:37:56]
Did he walk that much through the rain? I thought he was inside, and then all of a sudden he was outside and he was just dripping wet.
Amanda:
[00:37:56 - 00:37:57]
No, I think. I think it's a bit of a.
Kip:
[00:37:57 - 00:37:59]
Walk, and I think they were outside earlier.
Amanda:
[00:37:59 - 00:38:11]
Yeah. But I, I, I just this idea. But I think that, like, the whole weird. We are the good guys and we don't kill people. That's been telling them that. But I, They. That's clearly inaccurate.
Theresa:
[00:38:11 - 00:38:13]
Like, yeah, there's more there.
Kip:
[00:38:13 - 00:38:13]
Accurate.
Amanda:
[00:38:13 - 00:38:19]
Like, he even said. Because at one point, I think Tom or whoever said that Danny wants to kill.
Kip:
[00:38:19 - 00:38:19]
Yeah.
Amanda:
[00:38:19 - 00:38:26]
And he's like, Danny can wait. Like, he's not. Like, we're not gonna allow that to happen. Like, they. Ben has no problem if these people live or die if he gets what he wants.
Kip:
[00:38:26 - 00:38:27]
Ben is a killer.
Amanda:
[00:38:27 - 00:38:28]
Yeah.
Theresa:
[00:38:28 - 00:38:29]
And clearly.
Kip:
[00:38:29 - 00:38:54]
Yeah. No. So the whole act of we're the good guys, it's getting tired and like, they're just hitting us over the head with it over and over again. And I. And it's like, I don't know if they're just trying to do it so much that we're gonna eventually believe it. And I know that it's. It's an others thing that they do think they're the good. The good ones in this situation. But it's just like, no, you're not. You're not good people.
Amanda:
[00:38:54 - 00:39:01]
No. And like, terrible. Like I said, you're not coming to any of this with clean hands. You are violent. You infiltrated the group from day one.
Kip:
[00:39:01 - 00:39:01]
Yeah.
Amanda:
[00:39:01 - 00:39:09]
Both sides. You are responsible for some of the deaths. Slash, maybe not deaths, but Ethan strung Charlie up.
Kip:
[00:39:09 - 00:39:10]
He was going to kill him.
Theresa:
[00:39:10 - 00:39:12]
They also kidnapped a bunch of people.
Kip:
[00:39:12 - 00:39:15]
And they killed Scott and. Or Steve.
Theresa:
[00:39:16 - 00:39:20]
Not and definitely or.
Kip:
[00:39:23 - 00:39:25]
Scott or Steve.
Theresa:
[00:39:25 - 00:39:30]
Scott or Steve. But yeah, like, they were kidnapping children in the middle of the night.
Kip:
[00:39:30 - 00:39:31]
Like, like they're fucked.
Amanda:
[00:39:31 - 00:39:54]
They took wall. Like, like the ends do not justify the means. And as we're gonna learn, like, so when Juliet's talking to Jack and she's like, we make decisions together and we do all this, it's like, no, Ben is the leader. He's a crackpot. And like, he's selfish and does not care about, like. And that just becomes more and more obvious as this goes on. He's smart, which makes him dangerous.
Kip:
[00:39:54 - 00:39:55]
Very scary.
Theresa:
[00:39:55 - 00:39:56]
Yeah.
Amanda:
[00:39:56 - 00:39:59]
He's a selfish, narcissistic.
Kip:
[00:39:59 - 00:39:59]
Exactly.
Amanda:
[00:40:00 - 00:40:01]
And like to suggest otherwise.
Kip:
[00:40:01 - 00:40:11]
And Jack calls her out on that too. It's like he seemed pretty quick to make the decision to let me kill you with that plate I had to your throat. Like, so don't act like this is a communal thing.
Theresa:
[00:40:11 - 00:40:17]
She was like affected by like what Jack was saying because like later she's like, well, I. I make choices.
Amanda:
[00:40:17 - 00:40:35]
And we already knew from like the first scene in season three that like, they don't have a good working relationship. Right. So. And then. Yeah, I mean, it's. It's sad Colleen died. Like, I don't think anyone should die. But like, like you said, don't board a boat armed, like, and basically trying.
Kip:
[00:40:35 - 00:41:05]
To threaten her and like kidnap her. Yeah, like, but. Yeah, but I like all that to be said. I know you. You both feel the same way. Just like how I think my favorite scenes are. I mean, you can't have a bad scene with Ben. He always just has the best scenes. But. And Juliet is just like being so good, like you said. I can't remember if it was you or you who said about the scenes with Juliet during the operation, how she was so affected and just like, it was so good. And her conversations with Jackson.
Amanda:
[00:41:05 - 00:41:53]
Yeah. And this idea that, like, I don't know, it's like, I get that Jack I, I. And yeah, so, like, let's go kind of back. We kind of started beginning kind of jumping over, but so then Colleen's brought in Sawyer and caters on the cages, and eventually they bring Jack to operate. I thought that was really good scene. I thought Jack did a really good job. Obviously, Jack would never not try. Try and help. And I thought he jumped into doctor mode really well. And I thought that scene was really good. I loved him and Juliet together, like you were saying, so hot. Like, and it does suck that they couldn't save her. Right. But she was really up and they had to take her all the way back. And I don't.
Kip:
[00:41:53 - 00:42:16]
And Juliet was very upset about it. You could tell. Like, and she made a few comments about, not a surgeon. I'm a fertility doctor. Our paddles are broken. Like, they're just not equipped for this. And then we kind of find out, like, because in the. In the premiere, we saw them in this little village thing and everything. But then at the end of this episode, we find out they're not actually anywhere near that village. They're now on some island. Yeah. In the middle of.
Amanda:
[00:42:16 - 00:42:20]
So whatever they even have at the best of times, they're away from.
Kip:
[00:42:20 - 00:42:26]
Exactly, Exactly. Kate's good at climbing.
Theresa:
[00:42:26 - 00:42:27]
Yes.
Kip:
[00:42:27 - 00:42:29]
Again, she just climbed through the cage.
Theresa:
[00:42:29 - 00:42:38]
Yeah. She's like, I think I can fit back. I'm like, ma'am, I look at things and I hardcore underestimate what I can fit through. Excuse me.
Kip:
[00:42:38 - 00:42:53]
So what, like, yeah, we're jumping over the place. But, like, so Danny beats the out of Sawyer right in front of Kate. There's this weird commentary like, do you love him? Do you love him? She says yes to make him stop. And then she kind of tells Sawyer later, oh, I just said that to make him stop. Do you believe that?
Amanda:
[00:42:54 - 00:42:56]
No, no, no.
Kip:
[00:42:56 - 00:42:59]
She was just like, why did she say that? Because she was mad at him.
Amanda:
[00:42:59 - 00:43:51]
No, I believe. Oh, like, why did she say that? I think that they have a similar problem. Yeah, I think that. And that's always going to be why Kate and Sawyer, like, connect. Connect, slash, can't be together. Right. Because they are. They connect because they're so similar. And they cannot be together because they're so similar, because they're still so broken. I'm not saying that people who aren't similar can't be together. They absolutely can. But usually a more healthy, healed version of people coming together is better. Their biggest flaws are going to drive them apart. They both come from these, like, super broken, like, ideas of love and caring and they can't. Neither one of them are safe enough to admit to each other how they actually feel. And so I think when she was in an emotional state, I think that it came out right.
Kip:
[00:43:51 - 00:43:53]
Because it was. Yeah. Like, trauma.
Amanda:
[00:43:53 - 00:43:56]
Because I think if she was lying, she would have just said it right away. To make him.
Theresa:
[00:43:56 - 00:43:57]
Yeah, exactly.
Kip:
[00:43:57 - 00:43:57]
Yeah.
Amanda:
[00:43:57 - 00:44:00]
I think the fact that it took her a while to say it is because she can't.
Kip:
[00:44:00 - 00:44:00]
Yeah.
Amanda:
[00:44:00 - 00:44:06]
And then she just had to. And I think she can't be confronted with it. Right. Like she.
Kip:
[00:44:06 - 00:44:06]
That's right.
Amanda:
[00:44:07 - 00:44:18]
Now she can explain it away. Like, oh, I just said, let's make him stop. Because she can't acknowledge that she actually has feelings for him. Because that. Who knows what that would, like, lead to or mean. Right.
Kip:
[00:44:18 - 00:44:21]
Yeah. So the. The pacemaker.
Theresa:
[00:44:23 - 00:44:24]
That was weird.
Kip:
[00:44:24 - 00:44:38]
Also, I looked up where a pacemaker scar is. It's like above the, like, pectoral area near the collarbone. Very different from where they showed. It was like, under his pectoral area.
Theresa:
[00:44:38 - 00:44:40]
Yeah, it was definitely, like, off.
Kip:
[00:44:40 - 00:44:41]
They should have googled that.
Theresa:
[00:44:41 - 00:44:51]
And even when they were like in. Put. Put in the sternum and then this band aid was on, the. Was off. I was like, was the incision supposed to be in the sternum or just the needle?
Kip:
[00:44:52 - 00:45:23]
Like, I. I'm wondering about that whole scene because, like, they play it like the. The. The two doing it don't know what they're doing. And that. Is that just to freak Sawyer out? Because obviously they didn't put anything in him. We find out. But so was that whole thing just to freak him out, to be like, they. They don't know what they're doing. Like, as an added amount of stress. Cuz he's already stressed thinking they're going to do surgery on me, even if it was like a general surgery. But now my surgeons don't know what the. They're doing. So, like, they're going to kill me. It was just so weird.
Amanda:
[00:45:23 - 00:45:40]
Well, the whole thing was to mess with his mind too. Right. Because also there was also an. An effect. A different effective way to show him that even when the fact that he doesn't actually have one. But the idea that he had a pacemaker. You didn't need to shake that bunny like that. Like, what the hell was going on there at first. Right. Like, it was all to. To mess with him. Right.
Kip:
[00:45:40 - 00:45:53]
But like, what did Ben actually gain out of this con? Like, he says the only way to gain a con man's respect is to con him. But, like, what did I. I don't Think he got Sawyer's respect, but he.
Amanda:
[00:45:54 - 00:45:55]
He was able to control him.
Kip:
[00:45:56 - 00:45:57]
Control him to do what?
Amanda:
[00:45:57 - 00:46:27]
To not react. How many times after that between when that pacemaker went in and when he told them that it. It, like, wasn't real? There were, like, Kate said, why didn't you fight back? Why didn't you Whatever? So I think that was the. What he. He showed him was, I can control you. But like Ben said, it wasn't so much the pacemaker con that controlled him. It was the idea that they threatened Kate. So now Ben's learned also that Kate will always be a way to control him.
Kip:
[00:46:27 - 00:46:27]
That's true.
Theresa:
[00:46:27 - 00:46:28]
Yeah.
Kip:
[00:46:28 - 00:46:34]
Because I was just like, at the end, I'm like, why didn't they just show them they're on a separate island and they can't run? There's nowhere to run to.
Theresa:
[00:46:35 - 00:46:36]
And without the rest of the world.
Kip:
[00:46:36 - 00:46:40]
Without the whole tracks, I. I get it. Ben is all about the theatrics.
Theresa:
[00:46:40 - 00:46:40]
Yeah.
Kip:
[00:46:40 - 00:46:41]
Yeah.
Theresa:
[00:46:41 - 00:46:42]
Oh, yes.
Amanda:
[00:46:42 - 00:47:03]
Very much showing, like. You know, and maybe he didn't want to show them right away. Right. Like, maybe he was trying to control him and, like. But it. It's all this huge, manipulative game to, like, wear them down and. And psychologically destroy them. And he'll do it in any way he can. Like, the fact that he can watch them the whole time. He knows Kate can escape.
Kip:
[00:47:03 - 00:47:04]
Yeah, exactly.
Amanda:
[00:47:04 - 00:47:04]
Right.
Kip:
[00:47:04 - 00:47:05]
Like, he's.
Amanda:
[00:47:05 - 00:47:09]
But he's not doing anything about it because he wants Kate to know she can so that she will again.
Kip:
[00:47:09 - 00:47:10]
Exactly Right.
Amanda:
[00:47:10 - 00:47:33]
Like, it's. It's the level. It's actually, like I said, he's really scary and dangerous. I also said to Teresa, Kip. And I thought it was interesting. And for those who know what comes next, I thought it was very interesting that we made a point of providing Kate and Sawyer with hygiene tools to wash themselves.
Kip:
[00:47:33 - 00:47:34]
Yeah.
Amanda:
[00:47:34 - 00:47:38]
I was like, why do we need that? I guess it was also so she'd had to take her shirt off or whatever, but I just thought that was funny.
Kip:
[00:47:38 - 00:47:39]
Yes.
Amanda:
[00:47:39 - 00:47:41]
Now we all know everyone's clean.
Theresa:
[00:47:43 - 00:47:44]
I'm uncomfortable.
Kip:
[00:47:44 - 00:47:46]
It's important for next.
Amanda:
[00:47:47 - 00:47:50]
But, you know, Tom's trying to be nice to Kate.
Kip:
[00:47:50 - 00:48:01]
I get it. But it's just, like, they don't like you. Stop trying to be nice. Like, no, nothing fits. Can't you just let me know? I'll get some nuts, like, off. Like, if I was.
Amanda:
[00:48:01 - 00:48:03]
I'll literally not tell you.
Kip:
[00:48:03 - 00:48:03]
Exactly.
Amanda:
[00:48:03 - 00:48:05]
I'll literally never speak to you again if I have the choice.
Kip:
[00:48:05 - 00:48:07]
I'm not gonna talk to You, Tom, I get.
Amanda:
[00:48:07 - 00:48:20]
Yeah. Like, I know this a good cop, bad cop thing, which. It's the same with the Juliet bend thing, right? Yeah. It is just a part of who Juliet is. We'll learn. But it's also clearly like a. Oh, she's on my side.
Kip:
[00:48:20 - 00:48:21]
And.
Theresa:
[00:48:21 - 00:48:53]
But I think that's the problem with the others is, like. Because your question is, how are we feeling about the others right now? It's like, okay, so they're like a psychological mind, but at the same time, there's, like, nice parts. So you're almost like, okay, like, maybe I am wrong. Maybe they are you know, not the, like, bad others. Maybe they're just, you know, other people who are being. Who feel threatened by people who just landed there. And then now there's, like, a conflict, you know, Like, I think that maybe that's the point. Like, I forgot what my point was.
Kip:
[00:48:53 - 00:48:54]
That the whole thing's a mind.
Theresa:
[00:48:54 - 00:48:56]
Yeah, the whole thing's a mind. There it is.
Kip:
[00:48:57 - 00:49:01]
Yeah. It feels like that because, like, they're gaslighting us like crazy.
Theresa:
[00:49:04 - 00:49:05]
Sign of a good show.
Kip:
[00:49:05 - 00:49:05]
Yeah.
Amanda:
[00:49:06 - 00:49:21]
Another thing I'll just have to point out, because I looked it up while I looked at this. So one of the questions Kip had was, do you believe Sawyer's 35? If it helps, at the time, he would have only been 37 or 30. Wow. Because he was born in 69. So when it would this have been?
Kip:
[00:49:21 - 00:49:21]
When.
Amanda:
[00:49:21 - 00:49:25]
When did it air? It probably says in the. In the synopsis.
Theresa:
[00:49:28 - 00:49:29]
What are we talking about?
Kip:
[00:49:29 - 00:49:30]
It doesn't say the date.
Amanda:
[00:49:30 - 00:49:30]
Oh, okay.
Theresa:
[00:49:30 - 00:49:31]
2004.
Kip:
[00:49:31 - 00:49:32]
No, no, no.
Amanda:
[00:49:32 - 00:49:36]
For this year, though. Like. Like, how would he have been in real life at this time?
Theresa:
[00:49:36 - 00:49:38]
Oh, so.
Amanda:
[00:49:38 - 00:50:03]
So I do think that in theory, because he also probably was 35 when they started and in time, on the island has. I agree. Like, I. He looks older to me, too, but he's not that much older than. Yeah, but do we think, like. So someone has a tumor on the island on their spine. And that makes sense to me because were you not a little bit starting to be like, why are they here?
Kip:
[00:50:03 - 00:50:04]
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Amanda:
[00:50:04 - 00:50:14]
And that makes a hundred percent sense. And it would explain why Jack separated. Say, why Jack's kind of being treated better. Right.
Theresa:
[00:50:14 - 00:50:16]
Like, you know, he's not eating fish.
Kip:
[00:50:16 - 00:50:18]
Biscuits like the rest, Objectively.
Amanda:
[00:50:18 - 00:50:19]
Yeah.
Theresa:
[00:50:19 - 00:50:21]
Pooping and peeing outside, I'm assuming.
Kip:
[00:50:22 - 00:50:31]
And, yeah, like, Jack basically says it. I just happen to be a spinal surgeon, and I can tell from those X rays that, blah, blah, blah.
Amanda:
[00:50:31 - 00:50:38]
But should we already be turning our minds to the fact that we believe the island actually cures things.
Kip:
[00:50:38 - 00:50:38]
Yeah.
Amanda:
[00:50:39 - 00:50:48]
So what is the story with this tumor and who could possibly have it and why are they developing cancer on a place that apparently mystically heals things?
Kip:
[00:50:48 - 00:50:51]
Yeah. And I don't think he was meant to see those quite yet.
Theresa:
[00:50:51 - 00:50:52]
I don't think so either.
Kip:
[00:50:52 - 00:50:57]
I think that was because Juliet brought him in and that wasn't planned necessarily.
Theresa:
[00:50:57 - 00:50:58]
Yeah.
Amanda:
[00:50:58 - 00:51:00]
Well, I think they probably wanted to break him a bit more.
Kip:
[00:51:01 - 00:51:01]
Yeah.
Amanda:
[00:51:01 - 00:51:02]
Before.
Kip:
[00:51:02 - 00:51:19]
One of my favorite lines from this episode is when Jack's telling Juliet there's nothing you could have done, like she was dead before you put her on the table. And she says, are you trying to. Are you saying that just to make me feel better? And just like Jack's face.
Theresa:
[00:51:20 - 00:51:20]
Oh, yeah.
Kip:
[00:51:20 - 00:51:30]
When he says, I don't care if you feel better or however he says it, I was just like, yeah, he hates you people.
Theresa:
[00:51:30 - 00:51:31]
Yeah, no kidding.
Kip:
[00:51:31 - 00:51:35]
And they're just like delusional already thinking that, like, we're being nice to him. He's coming around.
Amanda:
[00:51:35 - 00:51:37]
Acting in that scene was so good.
Kip:
[00:51:37 - 00:51:37]
So good.
Theresa:
[00:51:37 - 00:51:39]
That little smile that he does where he's like.
Amanda:
[00:51:39 - 00:51:44]
It almost looks like he does care for a second. Then he's like, you're an idiot.
Theresa:
[00:51:44 - 00:51:47]
It's like, I literally care zero shits about you.
Kip:
[00:51:47 - 00:51:54]
Oh yeah, it was so good that. And is it art or. My two favorite lines from this episode.
Amanda:
[00:51:54 - 00:52:12]
I also love that when he. He. When Colleen dies and Jack is like, time of death and he's like looking around and then he's just like, she's gone. Like, cuz he's. It shows that he's still like in doctor mode, but also is like acceptant of the fact that, like, I don't like where the.
Kip:
[00:52:12 - 00:52:13]
I don't know where I am.
Amanda:
[00:52:13 - 00:52:25]
I don't know. She's gone. I'm sorry. Like, you know, we're done here kind of thing. Right. So, you know, he's still Jack, but like, he's just. I think every once in a while is like, where the amazing I doing.
Kip:
[00:52:25 - 00:52:26]
Exactly.
Amanda:
[00:52:27 - 00:52:28]
But overall, this is a great episode.
Kip:
[00:52:28 - 00:52:29]
Very good.
Theresa:
[00:52:29 - 00:52:30]
This is probably loved it.
Amanda:
[00:52:30 - 00:52:32]
Oh, well, we'll. We'll hear about it.
Kip:
[00:52:32 - 00:52:36]
I mean, anything else we want to talk about before we hear about how the characters are doing?
Amanda:
[00:52:37 - 00:52:38]
No, I think that's pretty much it.
Kip:
[00:52:38 - 00:52:48]
All right, let's hear it. Let's hear how, son, if she's. Well, she wasn't in it, so she wouldn't have fallen any further. But who's climbing. Who's climbing that ladder?
Theresa:
[00:52:48 - 00:53:31]
All right. So at number 14, we still have Charlie a negative 620. Then we have Ben at minus 200. Then we have Juliet at 60, Desmond at 450. Then our top 10 starts with Kate at 690. Claire at number nine with 780. Locket number eight with 1160. Jacket number seven with 1215. Gin at number six with 1425. Then tied for fourth, we have sun and Sawyer with 1530. Then we have Mr. Echo at number three with 1695. Saeed at number two with 1805. And Hurley at number one, still with 2345.
Kip:
[00:53:31 - 00:53:39]
I can't believe Jack's so low. Like, he's seventh. I don't know. He's, like, super hot.
Theresa:
[00:53:39 - 00:53:40]
Yeah.
Kip:
[00:53:40 - 00:53:44]
No, I. I'm sure his arms would have at least gotten some points this season.
Theresa:
[00:53:45 - 00:53:47]
He definitely got points for his arms. Yeah.
Kip:
[00:53:47 - 00:53:49]
But still seventh place. That's crazy.
Theresa:
[00:53:50 - 00:53:52]
Yeah, it is interesting.
Kip:
[00:53:52 - 00:53:56]
But then again, you often don't like his flashbacks.
Theresa:
[00:53:56 - 00:53:57]
True.
Kip:
[00:53:57 - 00:54:01]
Like, you're always upset with Jack's flashbacks. He's always yelling, does yellow hot.
Theresa:
[00:54:01 - 00:54:02]
I don't like the yelling.
Amanda:
[00:54:02 - 00:54:04]
Yeah, he should have one of those heart rate monitors.
Theresa:
[00:54:04 - 00:54:05]
Oh, God. Could you imagine?
Amanda:
[00:54:05 - 00:54:15]
Just for health, you know, it's nice. They basically give him a, like, the first Fitbit, you know, first Apple watch, you know, it's good. It's good for his health that he know that.
Theresa:
[00:54:15 - 00:54:18]
That looking at Kate makes his heart race.
Kip:
[00:54:20 - 00:54:25]
That's so funny. Well, that's certainly not how we feel about the episode.
Theresa:
[00:54:26 - 00:54:26]
No.
Amanda:
[00:54:26 - 00:54:26]
No.
Kip:
[00:54:27 - 00:54:29]
So let's hear it. Amanda, start us off.
Amanda:
[00:54:29 - 00:54:57]
I. I think I'm bad. Like, this is, like, a nine for me. Like, this is back to, like, that. Like, we're so. I know it got it off to a little bit of a rocky start for us. Like, we still were given a great. Like. But this, to me, is like, we're back to, like, really good storytelling, really good acting. And again, we're kind of like, you know, it's still what the fuck? Ish, but we're starting to see a little bit of, like, clarity kind of poking through, so I'm excited. So, yeah.
Theresa:
[00:54:57 - 00:55:25]
9.8.5 for me. I also really like this episode. I thought the entire thing was honestly kind of a trip. And, like, Amanda was there when I was writing my stream of consciousness, and at one point I was just, like, clacking keys while, like, staring straight at the screen. And it started. I'm starting to swear more because I'm just so, like, tripped out. So, yeah, solid episode. Loved it.
Kip:
[00:55:25 - 00:55:45]
Okay. I think I'M gonna do an 8.8. I agree. It's a, like, really good episode. We're getting up to that feeling of classic Lost, in a sense, if you want to put it that way. I'm just like. I'm kind of looking forward to when the cages are over.
Theresa:
[00:55:46 - 00:55:46]
Yes.
Kip:
[00:55:46 - 00:55:56]
But, like, that's the only gripe I have with it otherwise, like. And the. All this stuff every. Otherwise really, really good. 8.8. Solid, solid score.
Theresa:
[00:55:56 - 00:55:57]
Yeah.
Kip:
[00:55:57 - 00:56:00]
Bully. Cool, Coco.
Theresa:
[00:56:00 - 00:56:00]
Catch you.
Kip:
[00:56:00 - 00:56:03]
All right, next week. We'll see you back here.
Amanda:
[00:56:03 - 00:56:03]
Bye.
