Let's Get Lost with The Oceanic Three
We're your Oceanic Three: Theresa, Amanda, and Kip. Join us as we get in-depth about our favourite television show - Lost! We talk about everything: The Island, The Survivors, The Tailies, The Others, The Myths, The Theories, and on and on and on, but we also talk about how Lost changed the television landscape when it came out and how it still reverberates to this day.
Most of all, though, we always come back to how Lost is primarily a character-driven show. For every myth and mystery, five incredible character stories were told. They were complex, mysterious, beautiful, and sometimes challenging to watch - but the characters and their interwoven lives brought Lost to a different level unlike anything ever seen on television.
We would love it if you joined us as we get in-depth about all the Losties, what makes them tick, why they do what they do, and ultimately - what they're doing on the Island.

They found Oceanic Flight 815 on the ocean floor and the broadcast is so graphic it makes our stomachs turn. The problem is simple and terrifying: if the wreckage is “confirmed,” then someone put it there on purpose. We follow that thread all the way through Lost Season 4 Episode 2 “Confirmed Dead,” where the show introduces the freighter team and practically dares us to trust them.
We break down the four flashback snapshots that bring Daniel Faraday, Miles Straume, Charlotte Lewis, and Frank Lapidus into the story, and why each intro feels like a clue disguised as character work. Faraday reads as brilliant and completely unsuited for a covert operation. Miles shows up with a sharp edge and a profitable way of “talking” to the dead. Charlotte acts like she’s hunting the Island, not rescuing survivors, and her polar bear collar discovery in Tunisia may be one of the biggest mythology breadcrumbs we’ve gotten in seasons. Lapidus becomes our reality check when he calmly points out the obvious: the dead pilot on TV isn’t him, and the entire story is a setup.
On the Island, the tension turns tactical. Locke takes a hostage, Sawyer wants Ben gone, and Ben keeps doing what Ben does best: steer the room by feeding Locke exactly enough “information” to keep him hooked. We argue about the moment Locke asks about the Smoke Monster while an armed team is actively closing in, and what that says about leadership, fear, and obsession. If you love Lost theories, freighter conspiracies, and character-driven chaos, press play, then subscribe, share the episode with a fellow Lost fan, and leave us a review with your most suspicious freighter pick.

AmandaWe're three best friends and we love lost and we love talking.
KipBut even more so, we love talking about lost.
TheresaSo join us for some laughs, good conversation, and let's get lost together. Hey everyone, and welcome back to Let's Get Lost. I'm Teresa. To my left, I have Kip.
KipYo.
TheresaAnd to my right, I have Amanda. That's me. And today is another day.
AmandaTechnically, actually, it's the same day. That's why that's even funnier than the other day.
KipToday is another day, but it's actually the same day.
TheresaIt's the same day as us recording the last one. Um, how are we doing since dinner?
AmandaGood. We had pizza.
KipIt's quite full. Yeah, made you. I'm like in a a full, unhealthily full. My pizza was very thick.
AmandaYou made a thick boy. That's true. Yeah. We had homemade pizzas, courtesy of Kip and Dan. That's really good. Guys, I'm um concerned with uh a certain photo I'm seeing in the synopsis book. Let's see. What is it? And I don't like it. I don't like it.
KipWhich one?
AmandaThis Michael fellow.
KipOh.
AmandaAnd I also noticed that his name is in the opening credits. Yeah. I said that in the stream. I know, but I thought maybe you were wrong. I was hoping. No, it isn't. But it's on the second one.
KipYeah.
AmandaI knew he came back, but I I didn't know it was like being the opening credits kind of thing.
KipIt is kind of weird because then it takes away you're expecting him to show up. Like it's kind of dumb that they do that, but I know probably contractually they have to. That's probably what they had to do. Yeah. It does.
AmandaOh well, the good news is that he's not in the episode we're gonna talk about today.
TheresaAnd the good news is we're having cake after. Okay. Deep and delish.
AmandaCelebrate season two.
TheresaMy name is Henry Gale. I'm from Minnesota.
KipI meant to press for a different one. Which one?
AmandaYou see my son?
KipOh.
AmandaI can't.
KipOr this one.
AmandaWalt! Walt! WOLT!
KipThat's what we're in for. I hate Michael.
AmandaThat's actually a good reminder, though, um, because that name's
Confirmed Dead Setup And Cold Open
Amandaimportant for this episode. So now we've heard it 16 times. I will be all well-versed in it to discuss this week's episode, which is as follows Season four, episode two, Confirmed Dead, written by Drew Godard and Brian K. Vaughn, and directed by my second favorite of the directors, Steven Williams. He's no Jack Bender, but he's a close second.
KipHe's good.
AmandaThe footage of the wreckage of Oceanic Flight 815 plays on a news report. And through flashbacks, the four new freighter folk are introduced. On the island, the survivors continue to question the intentions of their supposed rescuers. Locke takes one hostage, and Jack and Kate help locate the rest. So there you go. We actually do have some flashbacks. We said they were done, but we just mean in the traditional sense.
KipThe traditional sense, and none for our traditional last. Hold on. What's a traditional flashback?
AmandaLike a full episode of one person's like oh gotcha gotcha. Right. Like focused on their backstory. This was like you got a little glimpse into each of the new characters. Yeah. You're not getting like a Kate flashback again.
TheresaGotcha, gotcha, gotcha, gotcha. I was like, what's traditional?
KipYeah, because it was sort of an odd opening. I mean, they're just underwater. You're kind of wondering what's going on. It's like submarines exploring the deep depths of the ocean, and you suddenly see like a suitcase. That was cool. More debris, and then holy shit, it's a plane.
AmandaAnd then we found out it's the plane. Yeah.
KipAnd then in a very old tube TV, Daniel Faraday is watching and crying for some reason.
AmandaThat's Kiff's favorite character, ladies and gentlemen.
TheresaYou know who I don't like? The other two. Oh, really?
AmandaCharlotte and Miles? Yeah, I have. I forgot how much I hate them.
TheresaI don't like Charlotte.
AmandaBut I do like Miles.
TheresaI don't like Miles.
KipI don't mind her in this episode. It's just she's like they're all sort of sneaky.
AmandaYeah, like again, you still don't know what to do. Um, though we'll talk about them a lot, but before we do, Kippy, do you have anything to tell us about this episode?
KipConfirmed dead. 8.6 out of 10 IMDB. Okay, fair enough. 16.9 million viewers, slightly less than the premiere. Little dip. Two nicknames this week from Sawyer.
AmandaYeah, he did called um Captain something. John Locke uh Captain Colonel Um Kurtz from Apocalypse Now. That was that reference. Is that what that was? Yeah, it's a good reference. It's a good reference. I would Locke is kind of curtsey.
KipHe's in that way. Um and then Yoda. I don't remember who he said that to Ben. Right, right, right. Yeah.
AmandaWhen Ben was trying to uh get him to like to get in his head about Kate.
KipI guess we're post-90 days. That's where we're gonna leave it.
AmandaThis is kind of before the freight people and after the freight people is kind of how I divide the show anyway. So it doesn't really matter what day it's on anymore.
KipBF PF.
TheresaYeah. Wait, what B before po before freighter. Post freighter.
KipAre you a BF or PF?
TheresaI'm a PF change. Oh, I love their temporal groom beans.
KipWe're a little like boy. We're loopy. We're we're loopy with all that pizza dough.
AmandaYeah, we're stuffed. Yeah, if you poke me, I'll go whoo!
KipLike the Pillsburg dough boy.
Trivia And Freighter Name Clues
KipWell, how about some trivia?
AmandaOkay. Okay, wow. You got trivia even. Wow.
KipThat's what I was doing while we were watching. Okay. Daniel Faraday's name is based on Michael Faraday, a famous what? I can give you options, or if you just want to leave it.
TheresaOptions.
AmandaWell, he was I don't know. Okay, go ahead.
KipA psychologist, physicist, or physiologist.
TheresaNo better sound. That's awful.
AmandaThat's so rude. What's your sound and guess?
TheresaIf I had a guess, I would do a sound.
AmandaThere's three options. Just pick one, bitch.
TheresaAre you insane?
KipGood one. That's the perfect time to use it too. Good one.
TheresaI'm gonna say a physicist.
KipCorrect.
TheresaDid he come up with the Faraday principle?
KipUh Michael Faraday discovered a relationship between light rays and electromagnetism. And Daniel mentions the scattered light on the island. That was the quote. That was a reference to Mr. Michael Faraday. He might have. That's just the only reference I saw. I don't know anything about Faraday principles. So I think I learned it a long time ago.
AmandaI don't know.
KipOkay, question number two. Okay. Who did they base the name Charlotte Staples Lewis on?
AmandaOh, did the author C.S. Lewis who wrote Charlotte's Webb.
KipCorrect.
AmandaKill did he write Charlotte's Webb? I don't think so.
KipHe wrote the Narnia book.
AmandaThat's what I meant. Yeah.
KipThat was uh That was a test for us.
AmandaE. B. White wrote Charlotte's Webb. These fucking initials, you know?
KipAnd one final trivia name. Who is the name Frank Lapitas based on?
TheresaLapidas!
AmandaI don't know, honestly. I've never heard that name in my life. Me neither.
KipNo one in particular. Just one of the producers had been trying to get the name Lapidas on the show for years, and finally they had a character they could use it on. I love Laplace.
AmandaIsn't that the perfect name though?
KipLike isn't that so funny? And just like he's just like, I want to use Lapidas. It was supposed to be something else like Al Lapitas, but then they're like, no, it needs to be Frank.
TheresaOh, why does it have to be Frank?
KipFrank Lapitas.
TheresaLapitash.
AmandaIt is a cool name for like a very I love Frank. You know what? The Freight Freighter guys are a great addition.
TheresaI agree. They're great. Lapidas, absolutely. Faraday. All right. Miles. Charlotte. What's your fucking deal with Charlotte? I don't know. I never like we never vibed. Like ever.
AmandaBut do you like have feelings later on with her? Okay. Alright. We'll see where we get there.
KipAll right.
AmandaAnyway.
KipSo now it is time. Oh, we are. This is even worse than the first one.
AmandaHow did we get worse at it? Yeah. This is we have had this problem in the past where we think we we want to do two episodes at a time, but then we are not good at it. Remember that time we did three? That was a mistake.
KipI think if we had eaten after.
AmandaYeah, I think so.
TheresaI think I'm a little like loopy.
AmandaOkay. But that's perfect coming then. Because it is
Teresa’s Rapid Recap Reaction Reel
Amandatime for Teresa's dream of consciousness. This is not the book I want.
TheresaNo. Season four, episode two, confirmed dead. What are this? Someone's camera's broken. Feels like we're looking for the Titanic. Doesn't this be like the first few scenes of the Titanic movie? Are there no fish down here? God, the ocean's polluted. Oh wait. Wait. Were these people even looking for this to begin with? Isquees, how do you know which light it is? Oh, I just assume that. Oh, hello, sir. You are not George. You are Dan. Why you cry? You don't know. What the hell is happening? It's bad. They're not okay. Wait, what do you mean everyone out? Oh they just threw him out. He deaf would not have been okay. He's lucky didn't hit that big rock next to him. What's he doing? Oh he's got a gun. I guess if I only knew one person's name, I would ask if that was them, maybe? Well hello, Daniel Faraday. I don't I don't believe you. Also your attitude in the chopper is way different than your attitude right now. Well the rain stopped, yay. Uh sir, you did not jump, you were pushed. Um wait, why wouldn't you know they had a phone if they called out called out to you at some point and you knew who Jack was? Am I on speaker? Jeez, that's awkward. Uh something seems sus, Kate. Always got a gun. Wait, where's the rest of the group though? It's raining where Locke is, and it's daytime? What is the hell's happening on this damn island? Oh my god, Vincent, there you are. Um, did they just go to the tree to hide right away? Because it was raining raining before too, and no one seemed to care. Oh, Hugo knows about the cabin. Oh, Hugo told about the cabin, and now Locke knows. Uh-oh, and now Benjamin is sus. I'm sorry, you got them from Walt? What are you talking about? Oh man, the waters look scary. And I love Juliet. I mean, that's fair. He's a liar, but also he could not be lying. I mean, Juliet's the best. I actually kinda like this duo of Said and Juliet. Uh, Daniel, what are you lying about? This whole thing is super sus. Daniel is not a good liar. What is your primary objective, sir? I'm scared. Ha. The idea of a giant walt. Love it. Ew, ooh, to Papa. Deception saved you, Locke. Lucky you. Um, is that person dead? He looks like he's broken. Oh, what the fuck? He's just hostile. And yes, Jack is quite handsome. Um, how do I know who Kate is? Oh right, she was on the phone with them. Um, so they do know that they killed her. Oh, we're learning the other people. Fun. No main cast. Wait. Do I add them to my list if they're if they have a flashback? What's happening right now? Is that a vacuum? Is he cold? Are you okay? Oh, he talks to ghosts. Or what is? What's happening right now? I don't like paranormal things. Oh whoa. A lot of money. Oh, and drogas. Wait, why would you smell the drugs? Uh is that gonna make the ghost go away? Just saying that you can go now? You don't seem sure. Okay. I mean, how did we get into this job? Oh dear, it's a code. Oh, he would know what happened in Naomi. Cause you know, he speaks to ghosts. Oh good, everyone found water. It's so wild that we're scooping water into canteens that some people have their feet in right now. Ben, shut it. Honestly, why doesn't anyone just muzzle him? Why don't we just shove a sock in his mouth or something? Also, Locke, are we forgetting that you killed someone in front of everyone else? Like, are we just forgetting that? I love that Ben's like a doggo when we walk. Oh dear. I'm sorry, Dan, what what are you talking about? Katie, you trying to flirt with him? Wait, what? When did they get there? God damn, Juliet and Said. Okay, yes? Hot damn. Okay, wait, now where are we? What's line of w what line of work? Why does everyone just have wads of cash bundled with elastic bands? It's a bear? How do you tell it's a polar bear? Ma'am, that's aggressive excavating. You're supposed to be more gentle. Why is she happy about finding that thing? Oh, this girl upside down. She's probably so lightheaded right now. Girl, use your core. Wait, how deep is that water? Well, lucky her, it's deep. Why is she so happy? Oh, now she's not. Oh dear, you in trouble. Uh-oh, flirting between Juliet and Jack, and Kate looks not happy. Man, can I just say sides look unfolding? Um, why would you want to know? You know what? I feel like Hugo and Dan have kind of the same energy. You know, I do not trust this woman, and by this woman I mean Charlotte. Ma'am, you give me bad vibes. But then again, maybe don't take her with her, 'cause you know she's got that transponster thing. Wait, how is Jack leading the way if Said has the thingy that tells them where they're going? Juliet, hunt, put your backpack over both of your shoulders. It'll be easier to run. Seriously, look at Said's arms right now. Oh, it's not Charlotte, is it? Oh my god, you almost shot Vincent. What am I looking at right now? Oh, person number four. Wait, that's not their plane. Did this really take me this long to realize that? So something's not right here. Okay, wait, what the heck? Ew, that's a terrible image. Who would show dead bodies? And um clearly that's not him, because he was eaten by a smoke monster. Okay, I see you, sir. All four of you are interesting and very different. Uh what's over that ridge? Oh, a cow. Did we always have cows on this island? Where's his transponster? Either you have a sat phone or a transponster? Or a flare. Um girl, you should know by now they do not want to go with you. Oh my god, what the hell she did? Wait, what? Girlfriend, why are you wearing a bulletproof vest? Seems even more sus. I'd probably say she's the most sus of the four. The Peter Oh my god, wait, what? They have a way off. Wait, why does he look the most beaten up and bloody if he landed it safely? Weird. Team for what? Oh, that's Naomi. Military training for what? Oh, that's the bad guy that saw Hurley in the place. Covert op doing what? This whole combo is so weird. What's this op? Why them? Why does he think they're survivors if they quote unquote found the plane? Of course Sayod would know how to fix a plane. Wait, guys, that's not how this works. You give him the phone and then you make him tell you. You don't let him walk away and make a call. Oh shit, love how he does. Wait, I'm so uncomfy. What's happening? Oh my god, I have chills. Why are they here for Ben? Uh, do not listen to Ben. Do not listen to Ben. Do not. Wait, why are you asking about the monster now? Instead of the weird situation that you're in. Wait, he knows her. Wait, I'm uncomfortable. Wait, what the hell? How does he know all of this? Why does he know all of this? What's going on? Why do they want you? What do you need a ghost person, an anthropologist, a pilot, and a physicist for? I'm sorry, what man is on their boat?
Fake Wreckage Shock And Media Ethics
KipThe end. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Lots of questions. More questions.
AmandaMy number one question, and you also kind of alluded to it. Um I'm concerned that although it's all fake, of course, I would sue the shit out of the news station that showed my dead pilot husband's body on the ocean floor on the television.
KipBloated dead corpse.
AmandaThat I I understand it's a it's not real, and I understand that it's a device to show us that Lapitas is aware that it's fake. Um, but that's so disturbing on so many levels, and I would literally sue the shit out of everyone involved in that if you're like because all you hear before he goes to the thing is viewer discretion is advised.
TheresaThat's it.
AmandaWell, they'd never be able to show that in real life.
TheresaYou know, like a PG 14 situation. Not a loved one's body, not a bloated dead body under the sea.
AmandaYeah, it was very strange. But I do get that it was like so that Lapidas could because if they don't show it, how would he know that? But I was just like very strange. That is so weird. Like you just turn on CBC and it's just like actually the dead bodies from like a plane crash. Like I don't think that's gonna happen in real life.
KipNo, absolutely not. Yeah, crazy.
AmandaSo
Meet Faraday Miles Charlotte Lapidus
Amandawe did get flashbacks, like we said, just yeah, one little like, yeah, let's do those first because it kind of as we're introduced to a character in Island Time, um, we get a little bit of glimpse of what they're like. Um, starting with Faraday, as we talked about earlier.
TheresaSweet Dan.
KipSweet Dan.
TheresaCrying. He's just upset, and he just seems like he's in the wrong place.
KipLike, who's this woman?
TheresaLike, he doesn't belong where he is right now. Like he's a physicist, like he says, but like not really, but is and like you can tell like the situation that he's in does not mesh with his personality.
KipNo, he's not meant to be on covert ops.
TheresaNo, he's like, oh, the light is like scattering.
AmandaI know he's like very I love the way he talks. He's just like and then I know I love it. He's very sweet. You're right. He does kind of have a hurt, like a more chilled out, a little bit more intellectual hurly energy. Yep. And it's very that's probably why you like him too. It's like you like those kind of characters, yeah.
KipVery, very fun. Um, but yeah, his flashback really wasn't anything other than it tells us nothing. Introduces us to the the someone watching the footage of the found wreckage and that he's like crying, and who is some sort of caretaker is unloading his groceries.
AmandaYeah, like and that's I think the weirdest part is like because where like how does he go from like a relationship? No, it seemed like his mom or like a caregiver of some sort. Like he's not well. Exactly. And then he's like on the island being fine, so it's like what is going on?
KipSo his is the least again. War questions.
AmandaHe's the I found his to be the most like the least descriptive flashback.
KipBut I think there's a reason for that. Yeah, of course. And and it definitely makes sense later on. For Teresa, right? Remember?
TheresaYou know it. I know it. We all know it.
KipMiles. Do you hear that pitter patter? Everybody. The little pitter-patter of the kitties running wild in our basement studio. Um so Miles Strom, who name back to the trivia. I didn't include this one, but is meant to sound like maelstrom, which is a crazy storm type thing. What is it? Okay. What is a maelstrom?
TheresaI don't actually know.
KipI just know the I've heard of the word when you said it's supposed to be like some sort of energy.
AmandaOkay.
KipMaelstrom is a powerful, violent, and often dangerous whirlpool that sucks in surrounding objects. Oh, interesting. So that's what they named him after.
AmandaOh, he's chaotic. He has such a different energy to Faraday, which I think is like really he's much more like aggro. And he like has a better understanding of like what's going on.
TheresaTotally, yeah.
AmandaAnd then he's like kind of like a little got a little bit of Sawyer energy in his real life. Like he's got a little bit of a hustle and like a little bit of a con going on. And he's kind of an ass. He's not a con.
KipYeah. He's kind of an ass. Like he's abrupt. Yeah. Like Sawyer's more chill now, so they needed to bring in someone else to be sort of that like in your face kind of character.
TheresaYeah, because that's definitely the vibe that Miles is giving up. I don't really get his like hustle.
AmandaWell, he clearly so he's a ghost whisperer. Like, because he he did unhe did talk to he did figure out from Naomi that right, or he's fucking with them, who knows? But he this is kind of the first, I mean, not really the first, but one of the more overt, lost science fiction-y and spiritual things that you see. And he does seem to be able to, for whatever reason, he at least thinks he can commune with the dead.
KipYeah, like we're led to believe it's legit. Yeah. He finds the money, the drugs, because something happens, tells the ghost grandson to get out of there, and talks to Charlotte or um Naomi's Naomi's body, right?
AmandaBut I do think it's a bit of a hustle, Sasha. Con in the sense that he's charging people a lot of money for it.
KipYeah.
AmandaHe clearly took the money that he found from that guy's.
KipSo he's like pretending to be nice and be like, here's a bit of a refund. Meanwhile, he just like stole from.
TheresaBut like, how does he how did he know that the that there was gonna be something to find? Yeah, but he go he went there and he's like, Well, where is it?
KipNo, because he said something about his police friend. Oh said he was a gang member, so he must know someone in the police who's like probably this gang member has drugs and cash. And that's why he was killed.
TheresaOkay, that makes more sense.
AmandaOkay. And then just kind of so I guess the idea being while that was there, he was like not at peace until it was like dealt with, maybe. I don't know. That part I wasn't really sure why.
KipI don't think he really cares about giving the ghosts peace. It's just like a means to an end. Yeah. He for him to like get extra cash and drugs and stuff.
TheresaYeah, because he was just kind of like, just go. And and I was like, Oh, is that how it works?
KipBe gone with you.
TheresaWell, I'm done now. Goodbye. Okay.
KipBut maybe it's more like it really, it's more for the grandma's benefit. Because like he said, I'm not gonna tell your grandma you're gone until you tell me where it is. And so maybe like in his mind, the ghost probably isn't really doing anything to grandma, but it's in her head. He can tell grandma he's gone now, you can be okay, and she will be just because he said that.
AmandaYeah, like a placebo effect kind of and so he's kind of like holding that over the ghost's head of like I'll do this so you can be left alone. Exactly. But tell me where the money is, which is what I mean about him being kind of like a con hustle. Like he's I don't doubt that like there's something going on supernatural with him, but I think he's like taking advantage of that.
KipIt's definitely not all on the level.
AmandaNo, right?
KipYeah, and we got Charlotte, your favorite.
AmandaShe seems to be the one who in her flashback, they they get kind of more progressively helpful. Yeah. Um, because hers, you can see obviously a very blatant connection to the fact that she's clearly hunting information about either the island or the Dharma initiative, or who knows exactly what piece, but she's she's aware of aware, yeah.
TheresaYeah, she's very happy. And that she found the polar bear.
AmandaYou're gonna love what I'm about to say. Are you so excited?
TheresaNo.
AmandaThat piece of evidence of that polar bear being in Tunisia is one of the most important pieces of information we've received yet in the history of the show about what's going on.
TheresaDo you agree with that, Kipper?
KipMm-hmm.
TheresaOkay.
KipDo you agree, Teresa?
TheresaI mean, obviously.
KipObviously. You know exactly what the reference is.
TheresaHundred percent.
KipNo, it's crazy. It it's a good little like precursor to a very huge reveal later on. Yeah.
AmandaI think that if I was ever gonna write a book about Lost and you know, obviously catapult this podcast fame into something more, I would write about all the times that the show clearly told us something on purpose that helped later on that would debunk the fact that they didn't know what they were talking about. The whole, you know, because like some fans are like, or just even whoever, are like, they made the whole thing up, there was never any plan the whole time, they just kind of kept going with it, blah blah. And it's stuff like this that I'd be like, that's clearly not the case. Sometimes sure, some of it I'm yeah, right. They've admitted that some of it is like, yeah, but there's stuff that's been planned for seasons and since the beginning, and this is an example of that.
KipYes, yep, hundred percent. Like literally first episode, yeah. Well, because it's a polar bear, yeah.
AmandaYeah, it's a polar bear, and now we're then like it ties in later. Tunisia, we don't know, right? Like, that's weird, but it's dharma, clearly.
KipWe all know why it's in Tunisia, and like I do the fact that she was so disbelief in disbelief over the crash, the plane crash. Yeah, she's like, I refuse to believe it. All excited when she finds that Dharma initiative caller. So, like, she's she knows something's going on and she's aware of certain things for sure.
AmandaSo she to me seems to be like the one who's most aware of like the bigger picture. And then you also get Frank, though, who is clearly aware.
KipYeah, but like Miles, there was like at least Daniel was watching the footage. Miles, there was like no there's no connection.
AmandaHe was hearing he was there something on the radio. The radio, so like he's aware of it, but it's hard to know if that really mattered if it was just trying to show us that it was the same timeline as everyone else's kind of.
TheresaYeah. Um it's so cute, it's so cute.
AmandaUm, and then Frank's is like, whereas I would say Charlotte's gives us the most information about kind of the universe around what she's aware of. Frank's is the most personally connected, yes, exactly. And his was very telling. Like, well, not that anyone here or is watching believes that it's, but there is kind of a question, right? So the show got so convoluted at times, and I will I will say that I I think to the like only positively, yeah, but it does, right? So there were probably some people at the time when they saw that that were wondering is this mean they did crash in one? Is it a multi-universe?
KipIs it like a or are they actually in purgatory? Because that was like such the thing for the longest time. Like they're actually actually dead.
AmandaAnd so is it gonna turn out that this was actually real? This none of this happened. Yeah, so him telling us, no, I was supposed to be the pilot on that. That's not the actual pilot, this isn't real, kind of helps us still keep that something going on.
KipYeah, and helps sort of like set this the tone of like they're not all dead.
AmandaYeah, please.
KipThey're literally saying that's fake. Frank is saying that is fake. Yeah, so there's something fishy, yeah.
AmandaSo they I I thought it was kind of in the I thought the flash tracks were cool. Like you start out with very little information and kind of worked your way up, and you got kind of a feel for each of the characters in their natural kind of state.
KipAnd then we get the Naomi flashback, and even more questions, yeah. But like she kind of like calls them out. We have a head case, so we're we've seen him on the island, he's quite loopy. We saw him crying in his home chair, so maybe uh not all there. And uh I don't remember what she called Miles. I think she called him just a ghost whisperer, ghost whisperer, and then an archaeof archaeologist or Indiana Jones or something, yeah.
AmandaAnthropologist, yeah.
KipYeah, and then uh drunk drunk.
AmandaSo that's the other thing, too, right? So we're we find out that Faraday's loopy and Frank's a drunk, so it's like, well, maybe Frank is full of shit too, right? Like it's still one of those things where like they're kind of laying some Easter eggs, but you still it's still open to see what's actually going on, which so they were cool. It's a good little intro to everyone. I think they did a good job with that. I think if they had waited longer, then it wouldn't have worked as well. So I like getting just a little snippet of them, and then you know right away that they're kind of important too.
KipWell, and I think too, it's like a symptom of I mean, I know that they filmed the first eight, but one of the things the creators were fighting for was shorter seasons with ABC for a while. Yeah, and so it's like a symptom of them tightening everything up, like probably in past seasons, we might have got one flashback episode for each of these characters, and now we're getting just four quick little snippets, and then we see from Naomi they're they're there for a crazy covert operation, and she's her in charge of keeping them all safe, and now we know she ain't no she ain't around no more.
AmandaShe did well, and it's interesting to me because like she is supposed to be kind of of all of them, the most put together, the most aware, the most competent, qualified, and she's the dead one.
KipYeah, exactly.
AmandaAnd then we have her and Abaddon in a room together, but we clearly have this George Wazowski or whatever. That's the guy from Wasnowski. Is it Wasnouski? Wazowski, I think it's the guy from Monsters Inc.
TheresaYeah. Uh oh yeah, Mike Wazowski.
AmandaBut you have Mike, who No George.
TheresaGeorge. Where did you get Mike from?
AmandaYeah, but I don't know. I think because it's whatever it is, I guess can be George. So George, who's on the phone, where is he in that room with Naomi Nabat on? Like, where does he come into this, right? And Regina. And now you have Regina, and that conversation was so weird. Like, he can't come to the phone right now. I'm like, who are you? It's Zoe Bell, by the way, which is kind of cool. But um, like the actress is Zoe Bell. And uh like that was such a weird conversation. Like, okay, give him a call me back. It's like I know it's so casual.
KipLike, where is he?
AmandaAnd it's like, is that Ben's man on the inside? Right? Or is it Regina? Or is there like a there's probably a ship full of other people, right? Like, so how many more people are involved? And why was this kind of like the rag tag team that was sent to the island?
KipYeah to like to do the whatever distraction because we do find out they're again throwing out answers left, right, and center in this episode. We know why they're there now, or the primary reason, because it was funny when I like uh Daniel's line, you know, rescuing rescuing you isn't exactly our primary reason for being here.
AmandaYeah, so that was interesting, and and again, like Frank kind of being the drunk, uh using quotation marks, and you know, whatever, but he's the one who figured out that Juliet wasn't yeah, like I thought that was really cool too, because you kind of see him as kind of like a bumbling kind of guy, but then he's the first to be like, nope, guys, she's not here. Like they're all aware, very strange.
KipWe got a local or native here, native, yeah. It's like uh but yeah, I agree. So, like, how do you get over that cliff if he landed that helicopter safely?
AmandaYeah, he looks awful, he might have just hit his head or something with the turbine.
TheresaEverybody else fell out of the plane, and everybody's pristine.
KipI know, but like, yeah, how do you get over that cliff? But there have been cows. Remember that farm where the that lock blew up? Another fucking thing lock blew up, yeah.
TheresaRight.
AmandaCommunications that Russian guy Mikhail Mikhail. Yeah, fuck a lot.
TheresaSo like he kills people, he blows stuff up. It's crazy because all he wanted to do was go on a walkabout. Now he's a murderer. Whoa.
AmandaAnd an arsonist forgot about the Naomi. Like, I didn't obviously forget about Naomi dying because like she died last episode, but in the recap, it shows um, because I don't think it showed last recap. Maybe it didn't, I missed it, but in the recap for today's episode, it shows Locke like throw the knife in Naomi's back, and I forgot about how fucking violent and horrifying that whole scene was. I'm like, you didn't just like this isn't like a self-defense fight thing. Like he fucking threw a knife in her back. In her back. It's messed up, yeah.
KipLiterally, and then walked away.
AmandaIt's messed up. That ain't right. That ain't right.
TheresaNo, no, but um back to these um Freder Peeps. Um, yeah, uh what the um whoa. Um I lost my train of thought. Like Frederick. Freder Peeps, Freder Peeps. Um, yeah, like when it comes to this whole like covert operation to get Ben, then you also have to wonder what's with the photo of Desmond and Penny. Like, did they know that Desmond was there? What is the point of like having that photo and being like, oh, your white your girlfriend sent us here, but like you're actually here for Ben. Like very, yeah, I'm like, mm-hmm.
KipYeah, yeah. Because that doesn't really why would they have that photo? Yeah, and like why would they look for Desmond? Like, what good is it if you're looking for Desmond?
TheresaYeah.
KipGood question.
TheresaDoes that get answered?
KipYes.
TheresaOh, okay.
KipI mean, I think that I I if I'm remembering correctly, I think it's one of those I don't know if it's explicit or one we just kind of extrapolate out of other information we receive. Okay. Maybe I can't remember.
AmandaBecause you're gonna learn some information more information about these characters.
KipThe freighter peeps.
AmandaAnd information about one of them for sure is very important.
KipYes, like everything with Lost, there's connections. Of course. For sure.
AmandaUm then it makes more sense as to why someone would have ended up with a picture of Penny.
KipIt's crazy, there's only 12 episodes left.
AmandaI know. Are you serious? Oh yeah, oh my god. I know. It goes by really fast. Very fast. And then I remember season five feeling like when I looked back at there's a few things that happened in season five that I actually thought were part of season four when I looked back. Because it all goes together so kind of seamlessly, and then it was like all of a sudden we're like at the end of season five, and I'm like, what?
KipOh yeah, yeah, season four and five kind of blend.
AmandaYeah, and then season six is so distinct, it's its own thing for sure.
KipSo, what's going on on Island?
TheresaWell,
Locke, Ben, Hostages, And Motives
Theresaon Island, our losties are essentially meeting these people who've got Camp Locke with Charlotte and they have got her. They will not let her go. They used her transponster, attached it to Vincent.
AmandaYeah, that's fucked up.
TheresaYeah, because they could have shot him. I know. Rude.
AmandaWell, I think I think they know that Jack's not gonna just shoot. Like if they think it like I don't know if they think it was Charlotte. Yeah, like I don't I think they trust I was more pissed off that they would just let Vincent go. Through the woods, yeah. Just after they kept him for so long.
TheresaThe whole thing just was not didn't sit well with me. The the Vincent part. Let's not use him. He's an innocent and all this. Um, and then Ben. Oh jammin.
KipWell, they're they're like quite like she's like asking them questions. Yep, trying to be all nice, even though we know I know, but like she's sus. Yeah, I guess.
AmandaWell, it's just so funny. Let's back it up a little bit because getting to the point where Ben does what you guys are going to talk about. There is this history of the in the within the episode of Sawyer and Ben being at each other's throats. That's the Yoda thing. So Sawyer's trying to tell, you know, Locke and the group, like, we gotta get rid of this guy. Why is he still around? He's done nothing but cause us trouble. He's got he's still being an asshole. And like, essentially, why are we keeping him alive? And Locke essentially says to him, he's mostly just mouthy. Like, it's it's his first quality is his mouth. He's harmless other than that. And he's like, He shot you, yeah. Like, and so he's trying to convince him essentially to get rid of him in one way or the other. And Locke talks him out of it and is like, we can't do that in front of his daughter, and blah blah blah blah.
TheresaHe's harmless, which is crazy because then Sawyer says, No, he's he's got plans like six or seven or eight steps like ahead, which yeah, we know that, like, we know that Locke you should know that, yeah, exactly. And the fact that you're like, is like kind of wild.
AmandaIt's just so frustrating to me. Like, talking about how you hate Locke, Kip. To me, Locke's biggest fucking flaw is when it comes to Ben. Yeah, like his like he will not trust Jack, he will not bring Jack in. He has this thing with Jack, but his real like Ben is the problem because eventually Ben shoots Charlotte and she's wearing a bulletproof ass as she lives. But then Sawyer is at this point saying, like, he's gotta go. Yeah, and Locke does seem to kind of have come around to that idea until Ben says, I have information. That's all, and then Locke's like, What? Okay, sure, I'll listen to you.
TheresaYeah, and then his first question What is the smoke monster? Are we still on that?
AmandaLocke, like that season one question is fine.
TheresaExactly.
KipLike, ask anything else.
TheresaLike, what?
KipLike, who's your man?
TheresaYeah, like who's why are they after you? Like, so many other questions I would have asked before even thinking about I have not heard that smoke monster in a very long time.
KipThat is true.
TheresaHe is not on my radar right now. Yeah, that's funny.
AmandaAnd that's where it locks like, and that's why when you were we were talking about the other day, and he and the other day, I mean three hours ago. Um, and we were talking about like how I go back and forth with him. My biggest thing is like I've never uh ever bought I'm doing this for all of us. Like, I do believe he thinks he's doing the right thing, and that there are going to be times that we have had and will have where he is right. I don't buy that it's it's always for him.
KipOh, it's only for him.
AmandaAnd so what a fucking prime example of that, just one episode later, when everyone, obviously other than uh you know, Alex and probably just Alex, uh, is ready for him to die and like find or be sent whatever they want to say to sleep at night, but finally get rid of him, and then he decides to keep him around to ask him a question, and he asks him up question that like only he needs the answer to the right. He cares about exactly right, like none of the people standing there give a shit about that right now. Like, but he of course uses that. So this whole like, oh, Locke is so like Locke is smart, capable, and like I do believe is going to end up being right for some things. But for him to be like, I've only had you guys no, you've you want answers, you want to know what's going on, you think that you're important, you think that you have some sort of purpose. That is all you care about here.
KipYeah, 100%. It's funny how Sawyer was talking. What's Alex's boyfriend's name again? Carl.
AmandaCarl. Carl.
KipBut like how Sawyer was telling Carl, he's just trying to get in your head, let it go, go for a walk, and then proceeds to let Ben get in his head.
Amanda100%.
KipCome on, take your own advice.
AmandaHe can't, he's literally incapable of it.
TheresaFunny. All right, so that's one freighter person, Charlotte.
AmandaYeah, but then it's like if we're gonna finish off Charlotte, it's frustrating though, too, because she's also full of shit, right? So, like this whole like, oh my god, of course they have questions. She's she's so good, and then like her just face changes when Ben starts to out her, out her, right? And it's just like kind of this like a maniacal almost like shift in her, right? So it's like, oh, what's going on? I don't know. Miles seems to actually be the most on the level with everyone, like he's maybe not saying what they're actually doing, but he's being pretty upfront, like, shut up, I'm not saying anything, don't say anything.
TheresaYeah, like he's not trying to pretend Daniel's accidentally saying things because I don't think he's knows how to yeah, that's how he he was giving me um Hugo vibes because when Charlotte was asking questions and Hurley's like, Well, this is what happened. There were this many of us, and then Locke's like, Hugo, and then later the exact same scenario, yeah. And Dan Daniel's like talking away, and Miles is like, shut up.
AmandaHe's like, I'm like all right, Daniel Faraday. This is Miles. Don't give them my last name.
TheresaLike, I was like, This is just Miles. That's funny.
AmandaBut Miles is at least being like like Frank and my Frank, I think is being less manipulative and just kind of himself. Charlotte and is being manipulative. Daniel, I think, is just kind of a little bit head in the clouds. Yeah, but Miles is the one that's the most like, yeah, kind of like old Soirus, right? Like he's not lying, but he's not gonna give you more than he fucking has to, and you guys can all suck it, right?
TheresaYeah, he's aggressive though.
AmandaHe's aggressive, yeah.
TheresaVery hostile. He's a hostile stack up, handsome. I was like, yeah, he is handsome. How did you see from your mask on to your helmet on there? You just looked at him and was like, damn.
KipYeah, no, it was good. And then they find a cow. Well, Frank finds a cow.
TheresaThat's a cute cow.
KipIt was a cute cow.
AmandaYeah, Belle. Yeah, yeah.
KipBessie. Some key moments are well, like Ben shooting Charlotte.
AmandaWhat a fuck.
KipWhich we talked about. Yeah, that's wild. Definitely sus that she would have a bulletproof vest on, but just like why Daniel would have a gun. You know, like all these things are coming out that no, you probably shouldn't trust these people.
TheresaYeah, because why is she wearing a bulletproof vest? Like, clearly, like she thought she might get shot.
AmandaYeah, is what she was doing.
TheresaYeah, but and she did.
AmandaAnd even the gun, I find a little bit more plausible if you're like kind of going to an island where you don't know who's there, how long they've been there, who's still alive, what kind of issues that might have come up. That I can understand the bulletproof vest means you're looking for trouble, you know? So that was a bit weird. But good for her, because she'd be dead if she didn't. Wow. You're gonna really be sad about that statement in about 15 episodes.
TheresaI doubt that.
KipUm, and just the fact that there's a helicopter there in good condition. Yeah. I had to laugh when Saeed's like checking it over and he just like twists this little rod, and it's just like, yep, it's working.
AmandaIt's like that's a few there's a few issues, but uh it's overall the mechanical is good, and then Jack's like, so do fly, and he's like, You bet you're you better believe it, or whatever he says. I'm like, what? Why isn't the pilot looking it over? He's got like a cut on his head, Julia's like dabbing at it slightly, and that's why he's out of commish, apparently.
KipWay over in the bushes.
AmandaLike, I would never in a million years trust Saeed to be like, yeah, it can it's gonna fly us out there. Exactly.
KipBut he knows everything.
AmandaYeah, he does.
TheresaYeah, he does. I trust Saeed. Also, his arms this episode, Yowza.
AmandaOh, he's very shocked, yeah. I told you, everyone on this cast is quite attractive.
KipYeah, and I mean, so it's exciting that they can get a they can get a helicopter and get off the island, is you can clearly see where Jack's mind is. Going.
TheresaYeah, and they're talking about making multiple trips.
KipYeah. Which would make sense if you're getting people off. Right?
TheresaYeah. Yeah.
KipBecause you have to you can't fit everybody in that helicopter.
TheresaNo, I mean there were only four of them to begin with.
KipThey all, like it's funny, they all kind of said that for including me.
TheresaYeah.
KipBecause they were all asked how many how many are for including me. Hi Jane.
TheresaI was like, that's a weird way. I would just be like four.
KipIncluding me.
TheresaBut they all said the exact same thing. I'm like, not even like a variation of that.
KipThey've been coached what to say. Yeah. So yeah. And then I mean it is crazy because like Frank freaks out when he hears, or Miles freaks out. Frank just sort of informs when they find out Juliet's a local or native, as they say. And then it sort of like hits the fan. Like, why are you actually here? The weird 70s picture of Benjamin Linus.
AmandaWell, and it is interesting because it does come up very like then Miles is very upfront, like very fast, right? So it's like it's interesting. Like, what do you think the issue was for them before? Like just not knowing like who was with Ben, who was without him, and stuff like that.
KipI would imagine because like uh what what uh it's Naomi who says, What if we run into any survivors of 815? And Abanon's like, wink wink, there were no survivors, stick with the story. And she's like, Yeah, okay, but what if we do? Like clearly they know.
TheresaYeah.
KipAnd so probably there were they had to wait to see who, yeah, who was with who, who's on Ben's side, who's a local, who's a survivor, and until they really could.
AmandaAnd it makes sense that Charlotte would be asking those questions, right? Like, where are all the rest of your people? And how many were there? And so she can kind of suss out like kind of who's who. Um, and it does make sense that like they would have to say they were all dead because then then like let no one's coming to look for them, then right. And they clearly don't want anyone near this island. Yeah.
KipYeah. So what do you guys make of that picture of Ben?
TheresaFrom the airport, clearly. Look like an airport photo. He looks like he's going through Sakarta.
KipOh, I thought he looked like he was in like a lab.
TheresaOh, I thought he was going through security.
AmandaI just don't like who where did they get it from? Why do they need him? Like, it's it's it's very And why does that look that way?
KipLike it looks very old. Yeah.
AmandaYeah, it's very important.
KipStrange. Strange things.
TheresaIt's very important indeed.
KipSo where do you think this is headed?
TheresaI don't know. Honestly, I got a lot of questions. None are being answered. More coming up.
KipI mean, you got some answers, you know why they're there.
TheresaYeah, but to a degree. Like it's not like that clear though, like at this point, who isn't after Ben? You know what I mean?
AmandaLike, isn't just this show just so fascinating and good in a sense that like if you were to go right now, just after this episode, and go watch the pilot, where we're at, like compared to what mattered.
KipNo kidding.
AmandaYeah, which is why he shouldn't have asked about the smoke monster. Doesn't even matter anymore to anyone.
KipLike, literally, it was like that's like a totally different show. Stick what is it? Live together, die alone. Like they had to stay together in that cave.
AmandaAnd there wasn't even a Benjamin Linus to be looking for, and now he's like the whole purpose that a whole group of people are there.
TheresaExactly. And now they're all in danger, and yeah. And that's the other thing. Like when I say like more questions, so they're there for Ben, so why are the others in danger?
KipLike well, that that's Ben manipulating Locke. Like you said, Amanda, Locke has the or Ben has his hold over Locke, and Ben's saying everyone's in danger if those people get here, meanwhile, he knows he's the one in danger. But if he can convince Locke that everyone's in danger and the island is in danger, Locke's gonna work in his way to get what Ben wants, which is those people not there.
TheresaBut didn't Locke say that he's getting he's doing what Walt told him to do?
KipWell, Walt just said you have work to do.
TheresaYeah, I I yeah you didn't give him a lot of things.
KipLike we heard, that's what we heard. He said he had to kill Naomi, but like we didn't hear Walt say that. We just heard Walt say, you've got work to do, John.
AmandaAnd the reality is he's interpreting what he hears to do what he wants.
KipExactly.
AmandaYeah, right. And like you know, that's why it's all like a kind of that's probably why Hurley's apologizing to Jack in episode one, is right, is because they're taking information and they're running with it without having the full picture. Yeah. So Ben is manipulating Locke, who's then manipulating everyone else. And Charlie's right, it was not Penny's boat. But why did they even think it was Penny's boat?
TheresaBecause of the because Naomi had the picture.
AmandaBecause Naomi had a picture of Desmond and Penny. And Desmond ran with this idea that that meant she was there, and she did say something.
KipNaomi said your your girlfriend's looking for you. Yeah, something like that. Something like that. But but yeah, like it wasn't explicit that she hired them. Maybe it was, I can't remember.
AmandaI think it was a little bit, but it's like they're just kind of but again, if they were there to get Ben, then the cover story might be something else, right? So it all kind of comes back to this idea that Ben is just trying to make something bigger than it is to keep himself safe. Because the only person Ben cares about on that plan on that island is Ben.
TheresaClearly, right? Yeah, but that's like the whole thing is just such a like mind fog, honestly.
AmandaLike that's why he's one of the most brilliantly crafted. Like, again, everyone is so true to themselves in this season so far. I know it's only two episodes, but like you know how there was times in other seasons where people seem to kind of like work against themselves, everyone is so perfectly like developed at this point. Like, nothing Ben has done in the last two episodes is surprising to me. Like, he absolutely would just open fire on her if he got the opportunity. He doesn't care, and then even when he does it and she survives and swears like pummeling him, he's just like me.
KipWhatever, I'll get her next time.
AmandaWhatever.
KipLike so you said, he's 10 steps ahead.
TheresaYeah, he always is.
KipYou know, I I thought he might say something to Locke, like, you remember he's smarter than you or something. And I feel like that would have got under Locke's skin, and he might have taken it out on Ben, but like he didn't. So but maybe he could have interpreted that like he's already figured out how he's gonna get us in ten steps. Locke should have been like, Yeah, you're right. Like he's manipulative and smart. Yeah, he's always got a plan.
TheresaAlways he's got a plan within a plan within a plan.
KipWhy do you think he wants to be with you, Loc? Because he can use you.
AmandaYeah, like I anything Ben would want, I would want to do the opposite of immediately. Yeah, but then he might even be telling you he wants something that he wants. Like he's crazy, he's so cool.
TheresaThat's why my one of my favorite lines of this episode is when um Juliet says, Well, I don't trust Ben or whatever, and he's a liar, but like also no. Yeah, he's just those people could be dangerous.
AmandaLike, what do you think? Like, yeah, I think that Ben is that could be or is lying about this and trying to help himself, or that we're in danger. And that's the like what that you're right. That's the best thing because it's exactly true. Exactly true. He's either totally lying to us or being a hundred percent up front and knows what's going on because he's smart, he's a liar and he's smart.
KipYeah, yeah. So one of those two things. The delivery's so good.
TheresaOh, yeah. I was like, yes, girl.
AmandaI I really do fucking love her. I know. Because like even when they were walking through the thing after, and Kate's like, Well, yeah, a heads up about the Calvary would have been nice. And he's like, Oh, I gave you that wink. And then Juliet's like laughing. I was like, This is so there's so cute.
TheresaIt was cute. I know. I love Juliet. I just loved when like because I have my people and they've got their guns at Union. I was like, that is the biggest lie I've ever fucking heard of my life. He is so bad at bluffing. I do not believe this. Pew pew. I'm like, oh, there they are. Something happened. And then I see Saeed and Juliet come out with guns, and I was like, I'd like to go back and see if there really was a wink.
KipThere was a wink. Oh, there was. Oh, there was, yeah. Oh, okay.
AmandaI and I remember it being like a little overt, and I remember, but yeah, no, there was a wink.
TheresaThere was a wink. That's why I thought he was lying. I was, I thought he was like, Wink, I'm gonna pretend that all this shit's gonna go down. And then when it did go down, I was like, oh, he was not lying. Yeah.
KipOkay, I have a question for you.
Character Rankings, Scores, And Wrap
TheresaOkay.
KipAre you including the newbies on your character rankings?
TheresaThat's what I that's what I did ask in the in the that's why I'm bringing it up. In the thingy. So, like, what do you guys think? Absolutely.
KipI think they should be because they're they're in it now for the rest of the season and beyond, potentially. Uh-huh.
AmandaThey're their their legacies are felt throughout the rest of the series. Agreed.
TheresaOkay. So I'm just gonna do a quick ad here.
AmandaIs there anything else you want to say about the episode while Theresa's doing her? Or should we move into character rankings when she's ready?
KipI think we're ready for character rankings.
AmandaIs there anything else is there anything we missed? Not really.
KipNo.
AmandaTeresa's stream of consciousness. We did that already.
TheresaWhat's the last one's name? Lapidas.
KipThat's not even like it's known.
TheresaIt's so catchy, too. Lapida.
AmandaAll right, Teresa. Now that we've determined that the four freighters, as we call them, can be added to the list. Where do they come in? I'm guessing very close to the bottom. Or maybe more neutral.
KipOh, I know where Charlotte's gonna be.
TheresaOkay, whoa. Okay, all right. Now it's out of 16, not 12, because I just did the math. 12 plus four. All right, so at the bottom, number 16, we've got Benjamin, negative 660. At number 15, we have Charlotte, negative 100. At number 14, we have Miles, negative 50. Tide after that, Dan and Lapitas with 50 each. Then we have Juliet with a 605, Claire with 850, Desmond with 935, Kate with 1,020, Locke with 1,195, Jin with 1,750, Sun with 1,785, Jack with 1,905, Sawyer with 2,170, Said with 200 or 2,760, and then Hurley, our King, 3,105.
KipDid Hurley change at all from last week? Hurley episode.
AmandaHe went up for his like little combo. Also, it was one thing we didn't say very quickly. This last thing we'll say about it was when he said the thing about the cabin. Oh, yeah. I locked picked up on the fact that he slept. That was and he tried to cover, and I was like, Oh, I mean the cabin on the plane. But I was like, uh oh. So that might be that might be important to remember because that might come up again.
TheresaBut even Ben had a look on his face. He was like, uh uh. He's like, what? You saw that?
AmandaOh, okay. Wow. That was that was an episode.
TheresaThat was an episode. That was fun. That was a roller coaster.
AmandaI I can start. I I think I keep it in mind as well. Although they're not like connected in the way that other premieres have been, like, they have a similar energy this last episode. I also think it's one of the more flawless introductions of new characters that we've seen. I think the rollout of the Freighter crew has been more, I don't know, well done than even the Taileys and things like that. Um, Jasmine and Juliet are still my favorite character introductions, but I think um Ben, but I think they did a better job with the Freighter crew than they did with the Taylor's and the others that were so I thought it was a really good episode. I liked what we talked about, but I give it a nine.
TheresaA kid.
KipAn eight. Good episode. I don't it didn't um didn't like give me wowie wowie feelings at the end. I mean, maybe just because I know why there it wasn't the same impact. But still very good episode, yeah. And I love I I do like all these new characters. I agree that it's a really good intro. I like all of them, Teresa.
TheresaThat's fine.
KipI saw your face.
TheresaNo, that's just my face. Um, to each their own, I say. Um I'm gonna give this one an eight. Um I liked it. I don't like it as much as the last episode. Um I I got chills sporadically throughout. Um, I think I noted them. Um, but I mean, like, I feel like I'm just like more suspicious about everybody even more now. Um so that's always a good time. Um I do like the um I like that even though it's like an ensemble show and we're getting all these characters like kind of coming and going, they're like memorable enough and like important enough, even like the small characters that like everybody has like a purpose that like makes sense. And I'm like curious to see if I'm gonna be emotional in 15 episodes or you know, whatever. But like obviously these people, if they're gonna be on the list, mean something. And I'm curious to see where that goes.
KipMaybe we have it very good uh second episode of season four. Season two and healing already. Yeah, that's wild. That'd be like we're like halfway through season one. Well, not quite, but almost. Yeah. Because like there was like 23 episodes. Which is such a weird crazy.
AmandaAlright, well, we'll see you next week.
TheresaWe're still resting. Don't hate us!
